Locals load up on crates of Stella and run after truck overturns on road

People travelling along a motorway in Colombia wasted no time scurrying over to an overturned truck to grab armfuls of Stella bottles after the vehicle fell on its side.

Luckily, no one was injured, and drivers on the road were encouraged to help themselves to the booze because otherwise it would have been chucked away.

We’re absolutely living for the smug grins on each and every one of their faces as they scamper away, delighted at the thought of sinking some ice cold beers without spending a penny. Watch the footage below:

One witness explained: “I was on a road trip with my boyfriend Pedro, from Cartagena, Colombia to Medellín, Colombia. We approached a traffic jam within a small town.

“A truck carrying cases of Stella Artois beer had flipped while rounding a curve. Police were already on the scene and I was told the driver of the truck was okay.”

The witness also shared that police sorted through all the cases before starting to offer them out.

They added: “The police and bystanders sorted through the hundreds of cases of beer. Cases that appeared to be unbroken were handed out to anyone who wanted them.

“Handing out the beer was allowed because there is no resale value after the crash and it would have otherwise been discarded.”

The footage was posted on TikTok, much to the delight of many social media users, with one person writing beneath the clip: “So nice of them to help cleanup.”

Another added: “Love when humans come together for a rescue mission,” with a third echoing: “Everyone acted accordingly.”

“The lord works in mysterious ways,” said a fourth TikToker, while a fifth quipped: “Imagine going home to be like ‘you wouldn’t believe where I got this beer’.”

Other comments included: “They gotta get it cleaned up somehow. I call that community service”, “I really love seeing a community come together in a time of need” and “It’s the people coming together to help keep the roads clear.”

Luckily, no one was injured, and drivers on the road were encouraged to help themselves to the booze.

TikTok user @mlstring_ captioned their post - which has racked up one million views - “What happens when a beer truck flips in #Colombia (police were handing it out, no resale value).”

As many social media users pointed out beneath the clip, it’s an absolute joy to see humanity band together in the name of getting absolutely wankered on a hot summer’s night. Major props to all involved.
