Playboy Model Divorces Herself So She Can Party As Single Woman

Playboy Model Divorces Herself So She Can Party As Single Woman

She married herself last year after being left disappointed by previous relationships

A Playboy model who married herself is now getting divorced so she can enjoy partying as a single woman.

Cris Galera, 34, from São Paulo, Brazil but who now lives in London, decided to get married to herself after becoming ‘disappointed’ with her relationships.

She took part in a ceremony in August last year, and speaking at the time, she said: "I reached a point where I matured, I realised that I am a strong and determined woman.

"I was always afraid of being alone, but I realised that I needed to learn to feel good about myself. When that happened, I decided to celebrate it."

But now, Cris is bringing her marriage to herself to a close so she can party as a single woman during Carnival in Brazil next month. Yeah, fair enough.

She explained: "I decided to marry myself in the first place as I was very disappointed and didn't want any kind of relationship with anyone anymore. That's when I said, 'I'm going to marry myself'.

"I don't believe in traditional marriage because they all always end.

"Then when I found out I could marry myself it was wonderful.

"I didn't divorce myself because I got tired of myself. I like to have a very solid reason and that's why [the partying]."

But she doesn’t regret her decision to get hitched to herself – quite the opposite.

She even wore a wedding dress to appear on the cover of Playboy Australia, posing with cash to show that she is ‘independent and doesn't need men’.

She said she chose the shoot as part of a ‘protest against traditional marriage’.

Despite her marriage ending in divorce, Cris is not ruling out another trip down the aisle in the future, should she meet the right person.

She added: "I am a woman openly embracing my power and my sexuality, for all to see. I've never been married to a man.

"I think that, first, you have to get married, and then have a child.

"I became such an independent woman, such a self-sufficient woman while I was married to myself.”

Revealing what it would take for a bloke to earn himself a place in her affections, she said: "For a man to get my attention he has to be beautiful, powerful, charming, fragrant and rich.

"That's the kind of man I want to attract to be on my side."

So there you go – form an orderly queue.
