Do you remember the backlash to the comedy film No Hard Feelings, which saw Jennifer Lawrence's character paid by a shy adult virgin's parents to sleep with him? Well, apparently that scenario isn't as far-fetched as you might think.

Saurora Grace, 31, has been working as a sex surrogate for three years and has been hired over 500 times.

Sex surrogates are the people on Channel 4's Virgin Island who help the adult virgins overcome their barriers to intimacy by engaging in sexual acts with them.

Speaking to The Sun, Saurora said she wants to help clients overcome their fears around intimacy or experience intercourse in a world that denies them pleasure', with her clients being men and women ranging from 21 to 80 in age.

"It might sound strange but I got into this line of work after my beloved mum lost her long battle with alcoholism in 2022," she said.

"Her heartbreaking death pushed me to want to help people. Losing my mum fundamentally reshaped the way I understood life, the body and human connection.

"It made me realise how often people deny themselves intimacy, pleasure and honesty until it’s too late. And it pushed me towards work that helps others reconnect with those things."

She explained that a session with her could last around three hours, and during the first session she'd typically give the client a massage while the second session 'may progress to oral sex'.

Then if they feel comfortable she may decide 'trying intercourse', though Saurora added that not all of her clients want to wait that long.

Saurora said: "Many were born with a disability and were still virgins, or they had been left with life-transforming injuries, such as paralysis, after an accident and don’t have a partner to have sex with.

"Others are able-bodied but could be in a sexless relationship or be a real-life 40-year-old virgin. Just over 90 percent of disabled people are sexually active, but many are still often treated by society as asexual."

The sex surrogate is proud of her work where she works with people to 'explore their sexuality in a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space' and explained that in many cases it's the parents of her clients who get in contact with her.

Some of them have grown children with a disability and want them to experience sex like others their age, and Saurora said she wanted to help shine a light on a healthy sex life being something disabled people can still enjoy.

While there are people who criticise her for her work, with a past relationship falling apart due to her job and being told she wouldn't find anyone who loved her because of it, she reckoned that if people knew more about the impact she had on her clients they'd change their minds.
