Police have slapped a man with a hefty fine after he was caught riding a motorised esky through the regional streets of Victoria.

I mean, tell me you’re Australian without telling me you’re Australian.

The creative ride proved to be a little too fast and furious for the Victorian Police as they issued a 20-year-old Diamond Creek native with a $925 (USD $599 or £557) infringement notice for using an unregistered vehicle.

Officers fined the young man after spotting him riding on a dirt track off Walshs Road in Lake Eildon on Friday (September 23).

But once Vic Pol broke the news, Twitter users were having a field day with the bizarre charge as one user wrote: “Lmao. Yeah. I’m done with this clown world s**t.”

Another said: “Why yes, you are the bad guys.”

One furious user shared: “What? people don't like us fining a man who was enjoying himself while hurting no one? don't delete the post, just lock the replys. that'll show em"

While another defended the charge: “Don't be ungrateful - the government is keeping us safe. Without that thin blue line our civilisation would collapse.”

Yes, thank god for the officers keeping motorised eskies off the streets.

Similarly, earlier this year, a teenager was caught driving a motorised esky, but instead of using the portable cooler solely as a mode of transport, it was a vessel to cart around marijuana through Melbourne's western suburbs.

Victoria Police

The Herald Sun reported in June that the teen was carrying drugs through a mini esky that bore the sign, ‘slippery when wet' attached to a motorised scooter around Lyrebird Drive at Carrum Downs.

But after several complaints, a police officer enlisted in a helicopter to help police track down the boy and his ‘mobile marijuana unit’, which was also carrying bongs and electric scales, according to Nine News.

But shortly after the esky was removed off the streets, the internet coined the ice box ‘deals on wheels’ while fiercely defending the man in question.

One user wrote: “A f**king helicopter was used in this high stakes chase?”

Another shared: “Seems like a cool kid - wish my neighbourhood had this service.”

While another person commented: “Always shutting down a young entrepreneur.”
