Snackers are flocking to social media in heated debate over whether the name of the green Pringles tube has changed. Prepare to roll up your sleeves and take to your keyboards or alternatively, reach for some Pringles:

It's the sort of debate which sets apart the grazing snacker from the avid snacker.

The person who isn't fussed whether they're sat next to the snack table or not, compared to the person who nicks a whole tray of canapés and sneaks them into the loo to guzzle.

But now crisp fanatics have been plunged into a heated debate on social media over whether or not the name of the green tubes of Pringles - 'Pringles Sour Cream & Onion' - has changed.

The debate was sparked when a series of crisp crunchers flocked to sites such as Reddit and TikTok to argue the green tube did previously have a different name.

However, the Pringles fans admitted they couldn't find any evidence of the name-change online and so have been left in a state of confusion.

Taking to Reddit, one crisp muncher wrote: "None of my friends believe the flavour was every called 'Sour cream and Chive'.

"It's now called 'Sour cream and Onion' Pringles.

"I thought I could easily disprove it by doing a Google image search but nothing...now it's 3am and I look like a confused fool. I'm starting to doubt myself."

And the Pringles fan wasn't alone either, with another snacker taking to TikTok, questioning: "Am I going insane or did these used to be called 'Sour Cream and Chive'.

"[...] I was eating them and I didn't pay much attention to the packaging and I was like, 'These taste different'. And that's when I looked at the pot. 'Sour Cream and Onion' I swear these were 'Sour Cream and Chive' when I was younger and they used to have green flakes on them."

The apparent name change of the Pringles has left social media users shook.
Twitter

According to Pringles' official website, the green tube of the crisp is definitely called: "Pringles Sour Cream & Onion."

The description reads: "Pringles Sour Cream & Onion crisps are the perfect combination of green onion taste and savoury sour cream flavours certain to satisfy even the most intense of cravings.

"These delectable crisps are perfect for any party or get together. No matter when or where you enjoy Pringles Sour Cream & Onion crisps they will always stay fresh with our iconic resealable container."

If that doesn't get you salivating, then I don't know what will.

However, one social media user responded to the original post, having apparently contacted Pringles to end the debate once and for all.

Their comment reads: "Pringles used to market a flavour variety in the UK called Sour Cream and Chive and sometimes our consumers use the name of this flavour variety when making inquiries or referring to our currently available Pringles Sour Cream and Onion flavour.

"We hope this has helped clarify and appreciate your interest in the Pringles brand."

LADbible has contacted Pringles for comment.
