While it's a shame the flat Earth theory still needs 'disproving', an astronaut has done it in the best way possible.
Some people subscribe to the conspiracy theory that because the world often looks flat when you're standing on it, all the various pictures, footage, eyewitness testimony and scientific evidence proving that the planet is spherical are lies.
According to one study, the flat Earth belief is linked to a general distrust in institutions and scientists.
SUNY astrophysicist Paul M. Sutter previously argued in an a piece for Space.com: "By claiming that Earth is flat, people are really expressing a deep distrust of scientists and science itself.

"So if you find yourself talking to a flat-Earther, skip the evidence and arguments and ask yourself how you can build trust."
Whatever the reasons are, one astronaut has used a camera to shut down the flat Earth theory once and for all.

In video shared on the @spacemanedu TikTok page, the spaceman waves to the camera and flips it over to show the curvature of the Earth.
"Someone said Earth was flat," the video's caption added, as shots of the globe were shown from all different angles.

We've been taking pictures and videos of the Earth from space for years, but it seems people quite enjoyed the way this was demonstrated.
Over in the comments, people were poking a bit of fun at Flat Earthers.
"You can make anything look round when you always use a fish eye lens," one person joked.

While another added: "Once again no ice wall, Earth is a globe."

I guess, you can't win them all.
Professor Brian Cox shut down Flat Earthers some years ago during a Q&A, saying: "There is absolutely no basis at all for thinking the world is flat.
"Nobody in human history, as far as I know, has thought the world was flat.
"The Greeks measured the radius of the Earth.
"I cannot conceive of a reason why anybody would think the world is flat."

The celebrity scientist added: "The very simple fact we've taken pictures of it. I'm lost for words, it's probably the most nonsensical suggestion that a thinking human being could possibly make. It is drivel."
