UFC champ holds suspected carjacker at gunpoint after spotting him on doorbell camera

But, it turns out the bloke was hanging around Sean Strickland's cars for a very different reason.

UFC champ Sean Strickland didn't waste a second when he saw a bloke near his cars.

The 32-year-old's doorbell camera went off one night recently and he could see a dishevelled man in between two cars in his driveway.

He initially thought the unknown man was trying to carjack him or break into his house, so he confronted him with a bit more than just muscle.

Strickland posted a video of the man falling over and then finding refuge and crouching close to the vehicles, before the UFC champ storms out of the front door.

"Checked my ring last night and thought he was stealing my car or trying to break in... What would you of done???" he said on Instagram.

We don't get to see anything else that happens, unfortunately, but the MMA fighter was kind enough to post another clip of the bizarre encounter.

The additional footage shows Strickland holding the man at gunpoint before we see flashing lights in the distance.

The man tries to get away and Sean pushes him on the ground and continues to point the weapon in the bloke's face.

He wrote on Instagram: "Here's what I know.

"The guy was drunk stomping out a girl, a security guard seen it, he jumped in his car and drove off.

"Security followed him, hit a curb, completely shredded his tire, drove on the rim for awhile then jumped out and tried to hide at my house.

"I initially thought he was stealing my car.

"He was arrested."

It's unclear what the man was arrested for.

People who watched the video can't believe how quickly things escalated.

One said: "Of all houses in the street he chose the one who chooses violence daily."

Another wrote: "A friendly reminder to NOT play ding dong ditch at Sean Strickland’s house."

A third added: "Dude picked one of the worst houses in the world to be a drunken fool at."

This isn't the first time Strickland has been involved in a wild video involving a firearm.

He posted a clip last year of him showering with an AK-47. Yes really.

In the clip, he says: "I'm going to give you guys some advice... showering with your AK is the most f***ing American thing you can do. It's not f***ing weird."
