After two years of postponement due to the pandemic, Splendour in The Grass is back for 2022.

For the unacquainted, Splendour In The Grass is an annual music festival held near the iconic New South Wales coastal town, Byron Bay.

This year’s festival will be held from 22 July until 24 July, and with tickets still available, it’s not too late to join in on the fun.

To assist with holiday planning, here is the weather forecast for the duration of the festival according to the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM).

What is the Weather Forecast for 22 -24 July in Byron Bay?

Friday, 22 July

Min:14 Max:17

Although New South Wales has already received its fairshare rain this year, the BOM predicts there’s a 95 per cent chance of rain on Friday, with a likely rainfall of 20 to 30 mm.

With Southeasterly winds expected to reach 20 to 30km/h festival goers may want to hold onto their hats and any loose garments.

Saturday, 23 July

Min: 14 Max:17

While overnight temperatures are expected to drop as low as 10, the sun should make a slight appearance throughout the day to warm up concertgoers.

There’s a 90 per cent chance of rain with the BOM predicting light showers throughout the day.

Sunday, 24 July

Min:14 Max:18

The rain is expected to be at its lightest on Sunday, with a 70 per cent chance of rain, with rainfall reaching only 1-6 mm.

The BOM also forecast strong winds for the final day of the festival.

While the weather may not be ideal, Splendour In The Grass has a stellar lineup this year so rain aside, it should be a lively weekend.
