Alex Jimenez is currently being investigated by Bournemouth following allegations of messages being exchanged with a schoolgirl.

Images of the alleged messages began circulating on social media last night (7 May) and the defender has now been dropped from the next match.

The club confirmed today that the 21-year-old would not be part of Saturday's squad against Fulham.

“AFC Bournemouth are aware of posts circulating on social media involving right-back, Alex Jimenez,” a statement read.

“The club understand the seriousness of the matter and it is currently being investigated.

“As a result, Alex will not be included in the squad for tomorrow’s Premier League game against Fulham and the club will be making no further comment at this time.”

Jimenez joined the Premier League side on a summer loan switch from AC Milan, made permanent in February. The Spanish footballer has made 32 appearances for Bournemouth this season.
