Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a little bit of darts action?
This year, we’ve seen some epic highs, with Luke Littler ascending to the world number one ranking at just 18, Luke Humphries winning the 2025 Winmau World Masters, and David Munyua’s recent Ally Pally heroics.
Right now, though, the name on everyone’s lips is Justin Hood, the 32-year-old British breakthrough darts player from Bath.
Nicknamed ‘Happy Feet’, the left-handed wonder first made a name for himself in 2019 after reaching the last 32 of the World Masters.

This year, though, the Bath-born sportsman has reached new heights, having gained a PDC Tour Card for the first time.
After making his PDC European Tour debut at the 2025 Baltic Sea Darts Open, he headed to Alexandra Palace in London to take part in his first-ever PDC World Championship.

After smashing Wales’ Nick Kenny 3-0, he claimed a sudden-death win over Dutch star Danny Noppert in the second round of the premier tournament.
After the 3-2 victory, Hood claimed a solid win over Ryan Meikle (4-1) before dramatically eliminating 11th seed Josh Rock (4-0) to reach the PDC World Championship quarter-finals.
The historic win saw the athlete hitting 11 consecutive doubles without missing, and was just one dart away from a perfect match. What could have been, hey?
According to ESPN, if the Somerset-based star wins his last 16 matchup - either against Michael van Gerwen or Gary Anderson - he will have banked a sweet £100,000.
And if he goes all the way to the final and wins the competition? Well, that’s a cool £1 million in his back pocket. Not bad, right?
If you won £100,000, what would you buy with it? A nice holiday, a new home, indulge in a wardrobe update?
Well, Hood isn’t doing any of those things. Instead, he’s confessed that he really, really wants a Chinese.

But not a standard £50 Chinese takeaway with all the best bits. No, Hood is dreaming bigger—he wants to run his own restaurant.
“I just love the food,” he reasoned in a recent interview. When asked how long he’d dreamed about owning his own takeaway business, he admitted: “15, 16 years?”
“We’re getting closer [to opening] there’s a few people who are interested. One more win, I reckon that sure could happen,” Hood continued.
After his match with Stone, the Sky Sports favourite asked the Ally Pally crowd ‘who wanted a Chinese’, remarking that they would have to pay for it.
“Love the fact that Justin Hood earning enough to buy a Chinese restaurant from his Ally Pally debut has turned into the biggest story of the World Championship. How can you not love darts,” said one X user of the viral moment.
Another commented: “Justin Hood. Never get in between a man and his dream. Unranked at the Worlds, playing out of his skin, chasing Chinese money.”
In a video posted by PDC Darts on December 29, Hood revealed what his dream takeaway order is
He started strong with a special curry and egg fried rice, then followed it with a plate of Singapore chow mein, curry sauce, and BBQ sauce.
“Salt and pepper chicken, salt and pepper chips, spare ribs,” he added before admitting he gets his partner to ‘order extra’ so he can have another round the following day.
I reckon it’s fair to say the whole country is behind Hood. I mean, come on - who doesn’t want to watch someone live out their dreams?
