As the date for KSI and Tommy Fury's long-awaited fight draws closer and closer - things seem to have been shaken up after a major rule has changed mere weeks before the high-profile clash.

KSI and Fury are set to battle it out in the ring next month (14 October) in what was initially advertised as an exhibition bout - following suit of KSI's last five fights.

Joining the pair in Manchester will be Logan Paul fighting Dillon Danis in the co-main event.

While Paul vs Danis is a six-round exhibition, the fight between KSI vs Fury appears to now be listed by BoxRec as a professional bout after originally being advertised as an exhibition.

However, it should be noted that the British Boxing Board of Control has not yet confirmed sanction the upcoming match as a professional fight.

According to Boxrec's listing, the high-profile October battle will be KSI's second-ever professional fight after he made his pro debut against Paul back in November 2019.

While he has gone on to have fights with the likes of Swarmz, Luis Alcaraz Pineda, FaZe Temperrr and Joe Fournier - they have all been exhibition matches.

KSI has since shared a video to X, formerly Twitter, reacting to the bout being listed as a professional fight.

KSI posted his reaction to fans finding out the bout was being listed as a professional fight.

In the short clip, he can be seen laughing in response to fans realising the change whilst wearing a BoxRec t-shirt and sharing a BoxRec screengrab of the professional listings.

Fury, on the other hand, is a completely different story.

The father-of-one has been crowned the victor for each of his nine pro fights since making his pro debut a year before KSI in December 2018.

In the tense build-up to the fight, Fury has since claimed he is a 'caped crusader' and has shared exactly how he feels about the fairly recent trend of YouTuber boxing.

The 24-year-old said: "I’m like kind of the 'caped crusader' of all this YouTube boxing. They all want to see me come in and destroy these guys.

"But one’s already been done. This one will be done in a matter of weeks, and then it’s on to the next challenge."

Fury added: "People want to see these guys get knocked out."

His dad, however, John Fury, has also weighed in on what he thinks will be an 'old-fashioned punch up' claiming that his son will make the YouTuber 'urinate himself'.

He told Boxing Social courtesy of Freebets.com: "We are training for an old-fashioned punch up. There are no rules, it will not be a boxing fight. It will be a punch-up until one submits.

"In a Misfits fight anything can happen, Tommy will grab hold of him [KSI] and punch him until he urinates himself."

The former professional boxer went on to explain it was their 'duty to entertain', adding: "You can only entertain with blood and snot coming out of each man.

"This is a street fight with gloves on. We are not going to show nice boxing skills, we will go to club him into submission.

"Tommy is a strong man. It is about who wants it the most."

Guess we'll have to just wait and see...
