Tyson Fury will have to make major change to his appearance for Usyk fight or face being banned

The change is part of his 'beast mode' preparations

Tyson Fury's preparations for his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk are currently in full swing - with the boxer training harder than ever to bounce back from his first ever career loss.

Just days after the Gypsy King's shocking loss to Ukrainian fighter Usyk back in May, it was confirmed the pair would be heading back into the ring once again this Christmas.

With the 21 December in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia fight now just days away both camps are now entering the final stage of their pre-fight preparations.

However, Fury will have to make one major change or risk being barred from the ring.

36-year-old Fury isn't taking the biggest setback of his career lying down and is said to have entered 'beast mode' in order to make sure he's fully prepared for the fight, which includes not speaking a word to his wife Paris for the past three months.

However, there's one change which the boxer will need to get rid of if he wants to even make it into the ring against Usyk.

During an interview with the media (via MailOnline) on Monday, Fury explained that he hasn't touched anywhere from the eyeballs down when it comes to grooming.

The decision to ditch the razor makes sense in Fury's broader ambition to channel his more primal side, however, he'll need to shave his beard before 21 December or face falling foul of boxing regulations.

Do boxers have to shave their beards?

Restrictions on facial hair may seem a little bizarre but the rule is in place to protect the boxer's safety.

Rules vary in each boxing association, however, according regulations put in place by board in charge of the Fury v. Usyk fight, boxers aren't required to be completely clean shaven but need to have their jawline visible for safety reasons and regulations.

Which means that Fury will certainly have to pick up the trimmers if he wants to reclaim his glory and titles from 37-year-old Usyk.

Speaking more broadly on his gruelling preparations for the bout, Fury told boxing presenter Dev Sahni on Frank Warren's Queensberry Promotions: "It's been a long camp. Been away from my wife and kids for three months.

"I've not spoken to Paris at all for three months, not one word. Yeah, I've sacrificed a lot."

"It will be worth it, 100 percent," he added.
