UFC fans couldn't help but notice the 'brutal timing' of a remark made by commentator Michael Bisping just as Cameron Smotherman collapsed.
The former MMA star, 46, inadvertently made his statement at the most inopportune moment possible on Friday (23 January), as it coincided with the 28-year-old passing out.
Smotherman, who hails from Texas, was set to face off against Ricky Turcios in a three-round bantamweight fight at the highly-anticipated UFC 324 event on Saturday (24 January).
The duo were on the undercard for Liverpool star Paddy Pimblett's clash with Justin Gaethje for the interim lightweight belt.

But Smotherman and Turcios' fight has now been cancelled after a 'medical issue' sent the US star tumbling on stage at his morning weigh-in yesterday.

In footage which has since gone viral, Smotherman can be seen looking unstable as he steps off the scales - and the 135.5lb fighter then dramatically collapsed as he stumbled away.
He went with quite the thud, prompting the TNT sports commentators who were discussing the hype surrounding UFC 324 to turn around in shock, as one of them shouted: "Oh sh*t!"
Given the contents of the conversation the trio were having at the exact moment Smotherman collapsed, footage of their remarks has also been going viral on social media.
Michael Bisping was one of the blokes sharing some pearls of wisdom and the former UFC middleweight champion discussed his lack of 'sympathy' for those who step into the Octagon.
"I never have any sympathy for these guys," he told his co-hosts, while Smotherman's weigh-in took place directly behind him.

"You've got one job - show up, on weight, in shape... You're a professional fighter, it's not hard, is it?"
Just a moment later, Bisping was jolted by the sound of Smotherman crashing to the floor of the stage. Medics then swooped in to attend to the UFC bantamweight.
After sharing their concerns for Smotherman, people couldn't help but pick up on the unfortunate timing of Bisping's remark, as one social media dubbed it 'brutal'.
Another said: "What are the odds?"
A third added: "The timing of that is insane," while a fourth chimed in saying: "Literally couldn’t be worse timing!"
Smotherman later took to social media to share a statement about the incident that led to his fight being abandoned, reassuring fans that he is 'completely OK'.
The UFC star, who is known as 'The Baby-Faced Killer', also appeared to rubbish claims that he collapsed because he had cut a 'crazy' amount of weight before taking on Turcios.
"I appreciate all of the genuine concern about me," Smotherman said. "I'm completely OK, I'm good. I'm not entirely sure what happened.
"I see a lot of people online saying, 'oh, it's crazy weight cuts,' stuff like that. I genuinely didn't cut very much weight for this fight. I came in pretty low, but even over the course of this week I haven't cut much weight.
"I have some more tests and stuff to take in the coming weeks to get to the bottom of it. But for all the people saying that I must've done a crazy cut or something like that, I've cut very, very little weight."

"I appreciate the concern," he added. "I'm completely OK and I'll hopefully be back soon."
Smotherman - who was set to make his fourth appearance in a UFC contest tonight - also apologised to his opponent for the last-minute cancellation.
Dana White, who is the UFC president and CEO, also confirmed that the fighter was doing 'OK'.
Sharing his thoughts on the incident, he told reporters: "If doctors don't know what happened, how the f**k do I know how it happened? Could be nerves, it could be a million things.
"I mean, people faint at weddings. I'm glad all he got was a few stitches on his chin, he fell face first, no hands. First thing I asked was, 'Does he have his teeth?'"
