Leaving your cat or dog at home while you go out for the day is one of the most painful day-to-day experiences of being a pet owner. But fear not.

As part of its Amazon Spring Deal Days, the company has launched a massive discount sale on a goods ranging from tech and fashion to home and sport.

Amazon expects millions of pounds to be saved by those who take up the option to buy a discounted Amazon Fire TV Stick or one of the Ring doorbell products at a massive reduction.

But it's one other saving that has caught our attention, and it concerns making sure we can keep an eye on our pooches or felines while we're out and about.

The Blink Mini 1-Camera is one of the best devices on the market for an absolute rock-bottom price.

It forms part of Amazon's own range of security cameras that rival the likes of Ring when it comes to keeping our homes safe.

Starting from today (19 March) and running until Monday (25 April), those buying the Blink Mini 1-Camera can save more than 26% on the listed price.

Instead of £24.99, the Blink Mini 1-Camera now be available to customers at a cool £18.49.

Available in both black and white, it should be enough to fit in with most home decor styles due to its simplistic, clean look.

The functionality is pretty easy to understand; it works as a way to monitor the inside of your home wherever you place it. It's motion-activated and has two-way audio, so if that pesky dog is up to no good and ripping apart a pillow, you might be able to stop him before any real damage is caused.

Synced to your phone via the Blink Home app, you are given notifications whenever there's motion. You can also just check in on the live feed whenever you want, with footage recorded in 1080p HD.

Those who are technologically naive need not fear, with it easy and quick to set up. All you need to do is plug in the camera, connect it to Wi-Fi, and follow the instructions in the Blink app.

The Blink Mini works around the clock.

And it'll work with your Alexa device if you've got one. Pair your Blink Mini with a supported Alexa-enabled device to engage live view, arm and disarm your camera, and more, using your voice.

If you buy the Blink Mini 1-Camera it'll come with a mounting kit including stand, USB cable and power adaptor.

And if you don't have a pet, it works as an additional security camera at your home in case the unfortunate happens. But here's hoping you'll never have to use that footage.
