The cold weather has arrived and Brits are looking for cost-effective ways to keep warm without having to put the heating on.

In a bid to save money during the cost of living crisis, people are relying on a budget gadget that’s received hundreds of rave reviews online.

One shopper called it a ‘life saver’ in the colder months, as they wrote: “Small but efficient heater. Reasonable price and ideal for moving around the home where extra heat is required.”

Another happy customer said the product has saved on energy bills, as their five-star review reads, “I purchased this heater in anticipation of a cold winter and really do not regret it. Using this is more effective and cheaper than blasting the central heating for hours.”

A third said they were impressed by the ‘powerful little thing’. They wrote, “When I picked up the heater, I thought: 'Oh… it's a little small, a toaster would be warmer.' But oh boy, was I wrong. The fan is quite powerful in itself, and the first heat setting out of three is powerful; I haven’t needed to put it on higher.”

Customers have said the heater in question can warm up any room in less than five minutes so there’s no need to worry about the electricity bill either.

“I bought this in order to heat a small room quickly and am very impressed by its performance, it definitely does the job,” one customer explained. “Just after a few minutes, the room was as warm as toast. In fact, I had to turn it down! I would recommend this product 100% and excellent value for money.”

Another agreed, adding: “A wonderful product that has helped us survive the entire winter - a lot less energy consumption.”

Where to buy a budget heater this winter

The budget gadget everyone is talking about is the Challenge 2kW Ceramic Fan Heater. It’s received almost one thousand reviews online and has ‘wowed’ customers with its power.
