A killer who went viral for his creepy tattoos and the fact he is called ‘Wade Wilson’, earning him the moniker the ‘Deadpool killer’, will be the focus of a new documentary.
The documentary will focus on the horrific crimes that Wilson perpetrated, committing double homicide and later being sentenced to the death penalty.
One aspect of the trailer for the documentary is particularly unsettling, though, revealing the phone calls that Wilson made to women from prison.
In June 2024 the Florida-born man was found guilty of the murders of Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz. However, over the course of the coverage of his trial he went viral.

This led to a bizarre trend in which people on TikTok, predominantly women, began sending him letters and admiring the murderer.
Wilson has very recognisable face tattoos, most notably including a swastika on his cheek, something which in part fuelled the viral trend.

He killed both Ruiz and Melton in the same night, strangling Melton in her home after meeting her at a bar and then strangling Ruiz and running her over with his car.
Now, a documentary called Handsome Devil: Charming Killer is set to release next week on Paramount+.

In the first trailer it shows a prison phone call made by Wilson where he says: “A rage overcomes me to just kill, kill, kill.
"When I get that way I become the devil."
The doc focuses on the social media frenzy that led many to become aware of the murderer, with the press release for the documentary saying it will focus on the ‘online frenzy among people drawn to his “bad boy” bravado, surprising tattoos and seductive smile’.

Many would question why a murderer with a Nazi tattoo is being described as a ‘bad boy’, but that is neither here nor there.

People commenting on YouTube were quick to criticise the documentary, with multiple users calling out how true crime documentaries often glorify murderers and can even retraumatise the family of the victims.
The most popular comment said: “I hope all money made on this goes to the victim’s families and not the lunatic girlfriends that appeared on camera.”
Another comment said: “Ohh look another killer that get a series and corporation that benefits from his evil doing.”
A third said: “Why the f*** is this being glorified?!”
Wilson remains on death row after delays to his case.

When imposing a death sentence, the judge in the case said: "The evidence showed both murders were heinous, atrocious and cruel, and that the second murder was cold, calculated and premeditated."
