Man Finds Football Filled With Concrete In Playing Field Along With Cruel Note
A man who stumbled across a football filled with concrete left in the middle of a playing field has slammed the malicious prank.
It looks as though someone went through a fair bit of trouble to carefully fill the empty casing of a football with concrete before writing a number of nasty messages - including one which read, 'cool, bet that hurt'.
The ball was spotted in the middle of a playing field in Bristol by some people out walking their dog.
A man, who didn't want to be named, told BristolLive that he very nearly kicked it across the park before, fortunately, he spotted the shape and suspected something up.
He told the news outlet: "We walked around the perimeter of the cricket pitch, which is in a raised part of the playing fields, and I noticed the ball pretty early on - it was my intention to go over at the end of the walk and kick it to the side somewhere.
"As I was heading towards it, I noticed it looked a bit misshapen and deflated, so I just very lightly tapped it with my foot. I obviously noticed straight away it was very heavy.
"The concrete patch was visible too, and on closer inspection I saw someone had scrawled on it."

Although the ball hasn't been weighed, the fella reckons it could be around 20kg; meaning it could cause a lot of pain, and damage, to anyone who had kicked it without realising it was concrete.
"Someone has gone to a lot of effort to do this," the man continued. "And to keep the ball round to make it look as realistic as possible.
"It was clearly intended to injure someone, there are some not very nice notes written on the ball and it's definitely been done with a bit of malice.
"I wouldn't have thought it was done by kids either, as I doubt they would have access to concrete and the sort of materials you'd need to make it look that realistic."
The 31-year-old man says he picked up the object and moved it, so that no one would mistake it for a normal footie and kick it.
He told the paper he plans to inform local police about the incident and has posted on Facebook to warn others to be aware while out and about.
Posting the pictures, he wrote: "Found and removed this from the upper cricket pitch at Pomphrey last night, a sick joke waiting to cause someone some pain."
"A concrete filled football with some kind messages written on."
Since sharing the post fellow Bristolians have reacted in shock to the stunt, with one person saying it was a 'nasty, nasty thing to do' and branding it 'unbelievable'.
