Brit, 26, shot and killed in America
On 22 August, Jamie Thomas Stephen Lomas was shot and killed at a house near Lake Youngs in Kent, Washington State, US.
The British man, originally from Manchester, died from multiple shot wounds the King County Medical Examiner’s Office reported. The residential property is located around 17 miles out of the city of Seattle.
Police in Washington State have launched a murder inquiry into the 26-year-old’s death. It is reported that no arrests have yet been made with the investigation ongoing.
Meanwhile, Lomas’ family have launched a GoFundMe in a bid to bring the man’s body back to the UK.

Set up on behalf of his aunty, Sharon Day, it asks with ‘the heaviest of hearts’ for people to help ‘bring our Jamie home from America to Manchester’.
They describe Lomas as a ‘loving family man’ who was ‘deeply loved by everyone who knew him’.
“He had so much life ahead of him, and we just cannot believe that we are having to say goodbye to him,” the page reads.
“Jamie was tragically murdered in America, and our family has been left completely heartbroken, struggling to come to terms with such a devastating sudden loss. We never imagined we would be in a position where we would have to ask for help like this, especially so soon after losing grandad.”
They want to bring him to where ‘he belongs’ so he can be given the ‘goodbye he deserves’ from his family and loved ones.
“The costs of bringing Jamie home from America are more than our family can manage alone. We are asking for any help you can give towards his repatriation and funeral costs,” it continues.
The GoFundMe has so far reached over £6,800 of its £10,000 target.
It adds: “Jamie was loved so much, and he will be missed every single day. There are no words to describe the pain our family is feeling right now.”
The King County Sheriff’s Office have ruled Lomas’ death as a homicide with the major crimes unit investigating further.
A spokesperson said: “On August 22 at about 12:20pm King County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a Domestic Disturbance, that had occurred at a residence located on the 23000 block of 156 Ave SE.
“Deputies arrived and secured the scene. No arrests at this time and this remains an active investigation by our major crimes detectives.”
A spokesperson for the Foreign Office said: “We are supporting the family of a British man who died in the USA and are in contact with local authorities.”
