Jeremy Clarkson says thieves stole 11 sheep from Diddly Squat farm and demands ‘put them back’

Jeremy Clarkson has been left fuming after 11 sheep were stolen from his Diddly Squat farm and has urged the thief to ‘put them back’.

Clarkson, who has run the farm since 2008, has revealed he had to call in the police after thousands of pounds worth of his beloved Easycare sheep were pinched.

The 66-year-old said he noticed the sheep were missing when he came to do a count of his flock with Clarkson’s Farm co-star Kaleb Cooper.

After realising 11 of his sheep were gone, Clarkson said he called the police who have since launched an investigation.

Speaking to The Sun, Clarkson said: “The police have been very good, actually.

“Once you go through 700 hours of recorded messages, I got through to a girl.

“I said, ‘I know it’s going to sound like I’m from 1856, but I’ve had some sheep stolen’.

“She went through the name and address and then she said, ‘oh, not your Easycares’. She’s obviously been watching the show, but it is the Easycares.”

Clarkson also warned: “It’s a farm. We’re armed. Just so they know.

“It p****s me off. Honestly, it just p****s me off.”

The former Top Gear host told the publication that sheep were worth more than £2,000 at market and has concerns there may be more missing from his other fields.

Clarkson said he didn’t know when the theft took place, but said it must have happened at night or during a day when filming wasn’t taking place for his popular Amazon Prime show.

Asked whether he believed the show had made his farm a target, Clarkson said: “It’s more likely to make you a target than less, but I still don’t think they’ve been stolen because they’re on Diddly Squat.

“How can you (stop it) if someone’s determined to steal your livestock?

“This is 1,000 acres, it’s a big farm. Anyone could be anywhere and you wouldn’t know.”

The theft was reportedly raised with Thames Valley Police by Cooper and land manager Charlie Ireland.

The theft of his beloved Easycares is just the latest bit of bad news for Diddly Squat.

Back in August, Clarkson gave a bleak update on how things were going on his farm due to the recent heatwaves in the UK.

He shared a screenshot of the weather forecast for Sunday 9 August showing highs of a sweltering 29C.

Alongside the screenshot, Clarkson wrote: “Harvest already f***ed. May as well just enjoy it now.”

Just a few weeks earlier, Clarkson had said that the hot and dry weather had left him feeling ‘scared’ about the farm’s future.

In his column for The Sun, he wrote: "Since I started farming seven years ago, the harvest has always been a nail-biting affair because you have to stop when the grain is too wet. Drizzle, dew and even humidity can halt proceedings for days.

"This year, though, I have a new problem. The grain is too dry.

"It's Thursday as I write this and I should be out there in the tractor, but I'm stuck. And genuinely scared.

"Because all it would take is a discarded cigarette end, or the spark from a piece of faulty equipment and in a matter of moments, my whole crop would be turned into ash.

"A year's work, literally, up in smoke.”
