Police witness statements reveal details about Liam Payne’s final moments as unseen photos shared

Witness statements to police have revealed new details about the final hours of Liam Payne prior to his death.

The One Direction star fell to his death from a third-floor balcony at the CasaSur hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina on 16 October 2024, with an investigation subsequently launched into the tragedy.

Now, two sex workers who had visited Payne's hotel room before his death have given sworn witness statements revealing more about Payne's final hours, the Daily Mail reports.

This included the star, who was just 31 when he died reportedly binging on drugs and alcohol, as well as offering to pay them with a Rolex watch worth £30,000.

Aldana Serrano, 32, and Lucila Goitea, 29, have been described as 'key witnesses' in the case, and had been working as escorts 'from time to time' for around a year when they were contacted by Payne via an Argentine website where their services were advertised.

Both women say in their statements they have since left sex work and are working as a hairdresser and entrepreneur.

Aldana said that the singer had called her on WhatsApp after finding her profile on the escort site.

She had also subsequently brought along Lucila as well, and said that they had agreed on a fee of $5,000 (around £3,700) for spending the day with Payne.

Aldana told investigators how she had initially not believed that it was a world famous singer who was contacting her.

"Liam contacted me via WhatsApp today (October 16, 2024) around 11am," she told investigators. "The whole time he spoke to me in English. He told me who he was and he sent me a video of him. The video wasn’t current, it was him singing.

"He also sent me pictures of him which he took while he was in bed, before we got there."

Aldana had called the hotel after Payne gave her the name, saying: "He had given me another name, which I don’t recall. We did a video call for him to show me it really was him and he told me he would send a car."

The two women were then picked up around 15 minutes later and taken to the CasaSur hotel, where they arrived at around 11.30 in the morning.

"He was alone in his room," Aldana said in her statement. "He greeted us warmly and I asked him for payment. We tried to communicate but it was difficult because he only spoke English and I only Spanish."

They had found the room to be in a poor state, describing 'tinfoil everywhere with traces of drugs' and that he had 'smelled of alcohol'.

The women's statement also said: "During our time there, we had sex with him – which was consensual sex – only once, and he wore protection."

"A one point, he grabbed his computer and sang a while for us. He showed us the songs he was working on – then he got bad," said Lucila.

She said that Payne had offered to pay them using a £30,000 Rolex watch, which he smashed in front of them when they declined.

Aldana said: "I told him we were leaving, he got angry and punched the TV three times. He wanted to rip it open."

After waiting down in the lobby, they returned to the room, where they said that Payne had apologised.

"He removed his jacket, got on his knees and apologised to me," said Aldana. "He asked us to stay and we told him no. He got angry."

They left the hotel at around 4pm, returning to an apartment they rented in the city centre, where they later learned of Liam's death on social media after he fell around at 5:07pm, around an hour after they had left.

Police knocked at their door just hours later, and they ‘co-operated fully and completely,' agreeing to give their sworn statements.
