Banking apps Revolut and Lloyds appear to be down for customers nationwide, with users saying their payments are being declined.
According to tracking website DownDetector, reports from Revolut users experiencing issues with mobile and online banking have spiked in the past couple of hours.
Users have since taken to social media to report issues with payments being declined. "My @Revolut card got declined this morning when I tried to pay for my coffee," wrote one X user, while a second person claimed they were unable to get home from a late shift.
Revolut has since confirmed the outage, posting the following statement on X: "Hi. We are currently experiencing a service disruption affecting multiple features, which may result in some services being inaccessible. Our engineering team is actively working to restore full service as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused."

Similar reports have also been logged by Lloyds Bank users, who are struggling with funds transfers and app logins.
Responding to the reports in a statement to LADbible, a spokesperson for Lloyds clarified that its mobile banking app wasn't 'down' but was aware of customers experiencing issues.
"Our app isn’t down, but we’re continuing to monitor the situation closely. We’re aware some customers may be having problems with some online services this morning, alongside similar issues affecting a number of organisations," the spokesperson said.
What are your compensation rights if your banking app goes down?
According to Which? users are not automatically entitled to a payout if they're unable to access their online banking for a short period of time.
Users who need to urgently access their money are advised to contact their bank directly, either in person or over the phone, for further advice.
If the outage causes you to miss payments, users are advised to gather evidence showing charges or negative impact to their credit score.
If your bank does not resolve the complaint, users are advised to escalate concerns to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).
LADbible has approached Lloyds for comment.
