A pair of jokesters decided to test out how accurate WeBuyAnyCar's promise of buying any car actually was, by selling the company a vehicle 'owned by criminals'.
Back in 2023, YouTubers Josh Pieters and Archie Manners decided to pose as gangsters and bring in a dodgy-looking car to make a quick buck before going on the run... so what happened?
Josh and Archie began their prank by making sure the Kia Picanto they were flogging looked as sketchy as possible, which included smearing fake blood everywhere and littering the boot with human hair, rope, and cable ties before heading to the WeBuyAnyCar's Putney branch in South London.

Claiming they needed to 'get rid of it quickly' the pair asked how much they could expect in return for the sale – to which an employee quoted them £196.
Which isn't too bad for the alleged scene of a crime.
Not content with leaving the sale there, the pair decided to push their luck as much as possible, with Archie then passing Josh a hammer to wipe down and toss in the 'crime scene' boot, all within view of the salesman.
Sensing something may be off, the staff member questioned why the pair had chosen to sell the car instead of scrapping it before asking: "Have I got anything to worry about?"
However, it didn't take much from Archie to convince the man, who then confirmed the money would be in the pair's bank account within 'three hours', to which the pair conspicuously declared they would be out of the country by that point.
"So good you buy any car," Archie joked. "It's really got us out of a bind today."

Do WeBuyAnyCar really buy any car?
With the pair able to sling their four-wheeled crime scene, you may now be thinking WeBuyAnyCar really do live up to their name and purchase whatever pulls up in front of them.
But apparently not, Josh and Archie would ultimately find the company's limit when a car they'd kitted out with various sex toys was rejected by a different branch.

"We thought they had a fascinating name because they're one of the only companies who state exactly what they do in it, and we wanted to see if it's true or not," Josh later said of the stunt.
"It turns out WeBuyAnyCar don't buy any car, but not the cars you'd expect them not to buy. The ones they do buy, they should be checking a little bit more before turning a profit."
WeBuyAnyCar declined to comment at the time, after being shown footage of the incident.
