Shocking details about a teenager who died while on board a cruise with her family have been revealed.

Earlier this month, 18-year-old Anna Kepner died while on a six-day Caribbean trip on board a Carnival Cruise ship.

The 18-year-old high school senior was discovered deceased on 7 November, with the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner listing her time of death as 11:17am.

A cause of death is yet to be confirmed.

As Anna was found dead in international waters between Florida and Mexico, the case is currently being investigated by the FBI rather than a local law enforcement agency.

Few details regarding Anna's death have been released publicly; however, a report from The Daily Mail is now claiming the teenager was found 'stuffed under a bed' by a maid cleaning the family cabin.

According to the source, who Mail Online did not identify, Anna's body had allegedly been found wrapped in blankets and covered with life jackets under the bed by one of the ship's maids, who'd entered the cabin to service it at 11am.

The cheerleader, who was from Titusville in Florida, is also understood to have complained to her family that she was feeling unwell during dinner the night before and headed back to her cabin.

When approached for comment on the case, a spokesperson for the FBI said 'no further information' to release at the time.

Meanwhile, Anna's family also revealed they've been left in the dark over her death.

"I don't know who they are looking at or what their investigation is," Anna's dad, Christopher Kepner, said in a previous interview with MailOnline. "Everybody was questioned. Everybody came off that ship."

He continued: "The FBI hasn't shared anything with me yet. I would imagine they're going to be in contact with me about it, but I know as little as everybody else.

"I have no idea what is going on right now. We are just trying to sit still and wait for answers."

An autopsy was performed on Anna's body on 11 November, with the cause of death not released to the public. A celebration of life is set to be held at her local church on 20 November.

"Anna lived every day with her whole heart. She loved the sun, the water, boat days, island days, and beach days, anything that let her soak in the light she so easily radiated to others," read an obituary to Anna, which revealed she planned to join the military after graduating from school and had dreams of becoming a police canine officer.

"She danced in the light she left behind and it will never fade."
