DNA testing has confirmed that Brittany Clark was killed by a 13-foot alligator last month.
The 31-year-old went for a swim with her boyfriend and another friend near the Barr Street Trailhead in Little Big Econ State Forest in Orlando on 28 June.
At 1:30pm, the alligator grabbed Clark’s arm and performed a ‘death roll’ by violently spinning with her in the water, said Grant Eller, a lieutenant with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Chance Allison, her boyfriend, tried to save her by wrestling the reptile away. It briefly latched onto his arm but Allison was lucky enough to escape.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FFWCC) officials and the coroner revealed that the bite marks on Clark's arm were consistent with the front row of the 13ft alligator's teeth.

Although Allison was able to pull Clark out of the three-foot-deep water, she was taken to hospital where she died from her injuries.
Allison was still ‘trying to get her arms away from the alligator’s mouth’ when he called 911 for help, Eller said.
According to a recording of the 911 call obtained by NBC News, loud screams and crying can be heard in the background as a female on the phone line tells the emergency dispatcher, ‘OK, both her arms, both her arms, both her arms are off, like, basically’.
“Does she still have her arms attached to her?” the dispatcher asks.
“One of them is, like, very hanging on [by a] thread, and the other was off,” the female on the phone replies.
When the dispatcher asks again where the other arm is, the female on the phone answers, ‘Gone’.

“While we were waiting for emergency services to arrive Brittany just told me to make sure I took care of Hokie,” Allison, 30, told The New York Post.
“It was one of the last things she said to me," he said. "I can’t recall anything else."
Allison said he tried his absolute best to pull the alligator off Clark, who worked as a bulldozer driver.
Her roommate Jayden Hernandez was with the group when the incident took place.
“It was NOT her time at all, we had so many plans, and it’s not ok whatsoever but it will be ok eventually,” she wrote in a tribute.
“I wouldn’t wish this pain on anyone, my heart goes out to anyone that knew her because yall know that she was a beautiful unforgettable soul.”
