There's been a new update in the Coldplay kiss cam scandal as the husband of Kristin Cabot has spoken out for the first time.
Unless you were living under a rock in July, you'll surely have heard about the incident in which Astronomer CEO Andy Byron was spotted with HR executive Cabot at a Coldplay concert in Massachusetts.
At first, it seemed to be a couple sharing a romantic embrace at a gig, before the two duck out of the way of the jumbotron when it focuses on them, with frontman Chris Martin joking: “Oh, look at these two. Either they are having an affair or they’re just really shy.”
After the clip went viral on TikTok, both Cabot and Bryon resigned from their roles in the company, with Astronomer's new CEO, Pete Dejoy, addressing the whirlwind of viral fame in a statement online.

This weekend, it was revealed that Cabot had filed for divorce from her husband, Andrew Cabot, who has since issued a statement.

According to a spokesperson for the CEO of Privateer Rum, the pair 'were privately and amicably separated several weeks before the Coldplay concert'.
They told PEOPLE: "Their decision to divorce was already underway prior to that evening. Now that the divorce filing is public, Andrew hopes this provides respectful closure to speculation and allows his family the privacy they’ve always valued."
On Sunday (7 September), NBC News reported that Cabot had filed for divorce from her husband on 13 August, with court documents showing that the next hearing is a scheduling conference in New Hampshire's family division court on 26 November.

Neither Cabot nor Bryon has ever addressed the incident publicly.
Following the scandal blowing up all over the world, Astronomer have leaned into the newfound interest, even hiring Martin's ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, as a 'temporary spokesperson' in one of their advertisements.

Martin himself has also since addressed what happened at the gig in August.

At the group's performance at Sewell Group Craven Park in Hull, the singer was reading a few signs held up in the crowd, as he said: "We are so happy to be here. Many of you have written signs. So, I'll take some time to try and read some signs. Then we'll see what happens.”
Upon reading a sign that said they'd seen Coldplay 'three times in three months', he continued: "You were at that Boston gig, well, okay, thank you for coming again after that debacle.
“We've been doing [the Jumbotron] a long time, and it is only recently that it became a... yeah.

"Life throws you lemons and you've got to make lemonade. So, we are going to keep doing it because we are going to meet some of you.
"This is called a jumbotron, and we've done this for a long long time, and we pick people out to say hello, and sometimes they - yeah, they turn out to be internationally massive scandal, sure.
"But most of the time we're just trying to say hello to some f**king people, that's all. Now all of this bullsh*t.
"We're going to do our f**king kiss cam... so if you're not prepared to be on international news, please duck."
