Kristin Cabot, Astronomer's chief people officer, has resigned following a 'kiss cam scandal' at a Coldplay concert.

She has left the company just days after the CEO Andy Byron also resigned from his position.

The duo went viral on social media after they were spotted at Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres concert at the Gillette Stadium near Boston last week (16 July).

During the band's kiss-cam segment, the married CEO was seen with his arms wrapped around Cabot.

After realising they were being filmed, the former tech boss from New York ducked his head, while the head of HR covered her face and turned her back to the camera.

“Whoa, look at these two. Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” Chris Martin joked.

Days later, Astronomer said in a statement that Byron has resigned from the company.

"Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted," a statement read.

"The Board will begin a search for our next Chief Executive as Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO.

"While awareness of our company may have changed overnight, our product and our work for our customers have not."

Now, a spokesperson for Astronomer has confirmed to many outlets 'that Kristin Cabot is no longer with Astronomer. She has resigned'.

Cabot oversaw the organisation’s human resources department.

While her replacement is yet to be named, interim CEO Pete DeJoy has taken over Byron's role for the time being.

In a statement on LinkedIn, he addressed the 'unusual and surreal' attention Astronomer has been getting.

“The events of the past few days have received a level of media attention that few companies — let alone startups in our small corner of the data and AI world — ever encounter,” DeJoy wrote.

“The spotlight has been unusual and surreal for our team and, while I would never have wished for it to happen like this, Astronomer is now a household name.”

It comes after the Coldplay frontman warned his fans at his 19 July concert in Wisconsin that the kiss cam segment of the event was coming up.

“We’d like to say hello to some of you in the crowd,” Martin said.

“How we’re going to do that is we’re going to use our cameras and put some of you on the big screen. So please, if you haven’t done your makeup, do your makeup now.”
