Kristin Cabot, who may eternally be known as the Coldplay kiss cam woman, has suggested that one move would have changed the trajectory of last year's scandal.

Unless you've been living under a rock, you will have seen the viral video which saw Cabot and her former boss, Andy Byron, embracing while at a Coldplay concert in Boston.

What should have been a cute couple moment soon turned into the misadventure of a lifetime as both their embarrassed reactions quickly made it clear that they did not want to be seen together.

Byron was the CEO of tech company Astronomer, where Cabot was working as the head of HR, and there's no doubt that attending a concert with your married boss is up there with the top HR violations going.

In the wake of the controversy, both parties resigned from their roles, but Cabot has now suggested that things would have been far simpler if Byron had made it clear that he and his wife were separated, thus ruling out the rumours of their illicit affair.

Speaking on Oprah Winfrey's podcast, the 53-year-old broke her silence on last year's events and revealed the struggles that she continues to face on a daily basis.

She said: “I was left holding the bag and being the one attacked for this while he remains silent — it’s not a quality I look for in a friend, a partner or a boss, so we have no contact.

“The entire trajectory of this would have changed if he had put out a statement saying: ‘My wife and I were separated at the time of the concert.’ Just like my husband did. But he didn’t so I was left still being called a home-wrecker.”

Cabot has also previously suggested that the relationship she had with her boss wasn't sexual and that she has been left 'unemployable' following the scandal.

But even if things were getting romantic, they surely will have called things off after going viral, particularly with the way in which she suggests she was hung out to dry by her former boss.

However, it was perhaps the reaction of other women which left Cabot feeling most disappointed, as she received a huge amount of hate after becoming the face of the 'woman who took my husband'.

She added: “I was told 90 per cent of the online comments and hate came from women and all the in-person comments came from women.

"I had no idea how unwell we are as a gender. I was living in a naive bubble, surrounded by incredible women who lift each other up. I don’t know women who tear each other down.”

Byron is yet to release a statement since July's now infamous moment but according to Cabot, has been receiving lots of interest and job offers from employers, while she still struggles to find work.
