The bizarre way which Diddy eats cheeseburgers was brought up during his trial, as former employees detailed the rapper's purchases in court.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs is currently standing trial in New York, facing charges of sex trafficking, transportation to engage in prostitution, and racketeering – all of which he denies.

The hip-hop producer's trial has so far seen testimonies from his former girlfriend Cassie Ventura and rapper Kid Cudi, as well as ex-employees and escorts hired for the accused's notorious 'freak offs'. Images taken from raids on Combs' homes were also shown to the court, including photos of firearms, baby oil, and drugs found at his Miami mansion.

If convicted on all counts, the 55-year-old could face up to life in prison.

Yesterday (23 May) saw the court told about purchases made on Combs' AMEX credit card – including the gross way the Bad Boy Records founder likes to eat cheeseburgers.

During his testimony, former assistant George Kaplan told the court that Combs liked to eat applesauce on his burgers.

According to New York Post, Kaplan told defence attorney Marc Agnifilo that staff would have access to the card in order to make purchases on behalf of Combs, which included the unusual condiment choice.

Responding to question about why applesauce was purchased, Kaplan said: "Mr. Combs loves applesauce and eats it on the side or on top of a lot of things."

"[On] Cheeseburgers?" Agnifilo asked, to which Kaplan replied: "Cheeseburgers being one of them."

Kaplan was also quizzed about whether or not he believed that Combs was able to keep track of all purchases made on his cards, which included items such as baby oil and leases for yachts and villas, to which he said that he thought it would be 'unrealistic'.

"He was doing business all over the world," Kaplan told the court.

"Frankly, to think that he knew where some of these things were coming from is unrealistic."

Kaplan isn't the first member of Combs' former entourage to mention his taste for applesauce, with ex-assistant David James being asked about the topping during his testimony.

"Were you aware he put applesauce on cheeseburgers?" Agnifilo asked (via ABC).

"I was not aware of that but I knew he liked applesauce," he replied.

James did reveal that Combs would had requested a specific brand of ketchup while travelling in the UK and would 'not be happy' if his preferred tomato sauce was not available.

"Ketchup was a big item he needed for his food," he testified.
