Donald Trump has just been for a checkup, and apparently, he's in 'excellent health' - or as excellent as you can expect from a 79-year-old with his own Diet Coke summoning button.
Earlier this year, people had noticed weird bruises appearing on the back of his hands, which had been shoddily hidden with splotches of makeup, leading to concerns that there might be other things covered up.
Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency after swelling on his legs was noticed. It's a medical condition among the elderly where veins in the legs become damaged and are less able to carry blood back to the heart, resulting in some health issues.
A couple of months ago, there were even rumours going around that he'd suddenly died since the man who is constantly in a state of transmission had actually gone quiet for a couple of days, but in the end, he turned out to still be alive.

Yesterday (10 October) he went in for a 'semi-annual' medical checkup, which is different to the US president's routine annual physical, which took place back in April.

According to his doctor, the results are in, and he's in 'exceptional health' based on the results of his three-hour examination.
He also got his flu shot and a COVID-19 vaccine top-up.
Sean Barbabella, Trump's doctor, said in a memo released by the White House: "President Donald J Trump remains in exceptional health, exhibiting strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological and physical performance."

Apparently, he has lost 20lbs since 2020 and has an 'active lifestyle' which means that the 79-year-old's heart health is closer to that of someone who is 65.
Presidents do get to control what information is released to the public about their health.
Back in April, Trump released information that he was 'fully fit' for his job but did not disclose details of his weight, body mass index, mental health screenings, cholesterol and blood pressure or his past surgeries.

The oldest person ever to be elected as US president, Trump made much of the health and fitness for the job of his political rival, Joe Biden, and would often attack him over his age.

With Trump dangling the prospect that he might run for a third term despite the legal and political obstacles that would be in his way, his age and health are going to be a continuous concern.
Should something happen, then JD Vance has made it clear he's ready to step up to the top job, as the vice president is constitutionally next in line.
