The US is reportedly having ceasefire discussions with Iran, following the recent weeks of war.
Donald Trump said yesterday (24 March) that he believes the States had already won the war as he boasted of a ‘very big present’ they’d received.
It’s also been reported that his administration sent a 15-point peace plan to Iran while discussions are said to be taking place.
"We're in negotiations right now,” the US president told reporters in the Oval Office.

He also claimed that Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were involved in negotiations.
These talks of a ceasefire come as the US military is preparing to call up more troops to supplement those already in the region.
Trump did not give details of this special gift from Iran but described it as a positive development.

He did however suggest it was related to the Strait of Hormuz – that’s the oil transit waterway dominating a lot of the headlines lately which the US has struggled to keep open.
Trump said during this chat in the Oval Office yesterday: “They [Iran] gave us a present and the present arrived today, and it was a very big present, worth a tremendous amount of money.
"It wasn't nuclear, it was oil-and gas-related, and it was a very nice thing they did."
Adding that he wouldn’t say what the present is, he described it as ‘a very significant prize’.
He claimed that Iran is ‘talking’ with the US administration ‘and they’re talking sense’.
The president claimed that the priority was to ensure the Middle Eastern country did not build a nuclear weapon.
And while he reiterated that he believes the US has already won the war, Trump claimed that Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth was disappointed with how quickly the campaign had gone
"Pete didn't want it to be settled," he said, but did not give details.

Intermediaries from Pakistan reportedly submitted his 15-point peace plan to Iran, as they have offered to host renewed negotiations.
An anonymous person briefed on the contours of this told the Associated Press that the move is being framed as the president manoeuvring to give himself ‘max flexibility’ on what he will do next.
However, Iran’s Khatam Al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, which commands both the regular military and the paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, suggested there are no talks.
Spokesman Lt Col Ebrahim Zolfaghari said to the US side in a televised statement: “Have your internal conflicts reached the point where you are negotiating with yourselves?
“Our first and last word has been the same from day one, and it will stay that way: Someone like us will never come to terms with someone like you. Not now, not ever.”
