Donald Trump has threatened to sue Rupert Murdoch's newspaper after a story was published about his alleged birthday message to Jeffrey Epstein.
The Trump-Epstein drama continues amid the US president's recent U-turn on deciding to release 'any and all pertinent Grand Jury testimony' on Epstein.
The convicted sex offender pleaded guilty in Florida state court to solicitation of prostitution and solicitation of prostitution with a minor in 2008. The American financier was sentenced to 18 months in jail, but only served 13, because he agreed a plea deal.
He was arrested again in 2019 for the sex trafficking of minors and died aged 66 by an apparent suicide in prison while awaiting trial.

Since the Florida case, Trump has continued to distance himself from the convicted sex offender, who he once called a 'terrific guy' in a quote published by New York Magazine in 2002.
The pair were pictured together at parties in the late 90s and early 2000s, but the Republican leader has long denied a friendship.
Trump's alleged birthday message to Epstein

The wealthy duo first knew of each other in the early 90s, as both Trump and Epstein hung in and around the same elite social circles.

In a recent article by The Wall Street Journal, the outlet shared an alleged letter written by Trump to Epstein for his 50th birthday in 2003.
The Wall Street Journal, owned by News Corporation majority stakeholder Murdoch, say they saw Trump's alleged message after reviewing a series of documents.
“Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret,” is what the message in the letter allegedly said alongside a drawing.
“A pair of small arcs denotes the woman’s breasts, and the future president’s signature is a squiggly ‘Donald’ below her waist, mimicking pubic hair,” the Journal said of the alleged drawing.
Trump says the letter is 'fake'

Taking to Truth Social, he wrote: "This is not me. This is a fake thing. It's a fake Wall Street Journal story. I never wrote a picture in my life. I don't draw pictures of women. It's not my language. It's not my words."
Threatening legal action, Trump added: "I told Rupert Murdoch it was a Scam, that he shouldn't print this Fake Story. But he did, and now I'm going to sue his a** off, and that of his third rate newspaper."
Also this week, Trump ordered a motion to seek a court order to unseal grand jury transcripts related to Epstein.
It comes after the US Justice Department and FBI said there was no evidence of an 'Epstein client list' earlier this month.
Elon Musk, who dropped a baseless claim about Trump knowing about the Epstein list because it implicated him, had his say on X.

“It really doesn’t sound like something Trump would say tbh,” he said.
