A tourist who ordered two pizzas at a popular ski resort was left horrified when they realised how much they had been charged.

Aspen is a town in Colorado and often attracts some of the wealthiest visitors thanks to its world-famous skiing resort.

It's known for being on the spenny side, but you'd probably never imagine just how expensive it could be.

Posting on Reddit, one tourist shared a photo of a 10-inch pizza and asked: "Anyone wanna guess how much two 10” pizzas delivered in Aspen cost?"

We've got to say, the pizza in question looks pretty shoddy.

First off it's tiny - barely the size of the person's hand - and the toppings kind of look like they've been thrown on.

You can tell it's ham and pineapple but if you ask us, there's way too much cheese and the crusts are pretty burnt, too.

Overall, if we received this, we wouldn't be impressed.

Which is exactly how the tourist felt, made even worse by the price tag that came with it.

"Okay y’all. Here’s the deal," they wrote.

"$91.66 USD including tip. The kicker was getting a text after the order that said Credit cards are authorized for a margin above the total and will be settled accurately at the close of business.

"Checking my bank account, I was charged $137.66. No picture of the other pizza but it was, obviously not good either."

So that's $91.66 (£73.19) on two small pizzas which works out at around £36 each (with tip).

People were horrified, with one person commenting on the post: "What the hell, can you ask your card company for a chargeback or something? This seems like a complete scam."

While another said: "There should be a helicopter involved for that bulls**t."

And a third pointed out: "I make pizzas at an Italian fine dining restaurant. The most expensive pizza we sell costs 25 bucks, cuz you know it's pizza. Dough, sauce and cheese should never be that expensive."

Meanwhile, another person asked: "Bro, WHY TF DID YOU FINALIZE BUYING IT. I would literally rather skip 2 meals than do that s**t."

The original poster explained: "This may be one of the biggest mistakes of my life. I honestly don’t have a good answer for you other than, we had avoided eating all week because of the price.

"I come to you all as the dunce. I am dumb boy and did bad. Please don’t be like me."

Oh dear.
