Jeff Bezos has consistently been one of the richest men in the world over the past few decades, so if he has a tip for life, you probably ought to listen.

We've all got something shipped for next day delivery on Amazon Prime at some point - because convenience is everything, right?

Well, Bezos has built that empire with that in mind for years, with several bases located in over 200 countries around the world.

Convenient online shopping at your fingertips and couple this with their streaming platform Prime Video, and you start to understand why and how the company is worth near $2.4 trillion.

CEO Bezos himself is worth just short of $238 billion, and it's fair to say that you don't become that successful through sheer luck.

It takes planning and a business-savvy approach and most of all, a lifestyle oriented to the goals you want to achieve.

Bezos is not what you'd call traditional either, as he would ask unorthodox questions in interviews to highlight prime candidates, while also scaring the s*** out of employees by sending complaint emails and concerns to company higher-ups with a simple '?'.

So, when it comes to starting his day, Bezos has to clear his mind in order to live and breathe success.

For many of this, this may be having a cup of coffee or taking a moment to focus on your breathing before the day ahead.

Bezos though, has something called a '1-Hour Rule', it's a low-stimulation morning routine, which allows his mind to wonder and reset.

It's also known as his 'puttering time', which also includes having a coffee - so we're part of the way there then.

The 61-year-old would also spend this time reading and learning, but not on his phone - in fact, he avoids the device altogether.

According to Blinkist Magazine, neuroscience research points towards the benefits of keeping the start of your day technology-free.

They explain that the first hour of your day is when your brain is most 'alert and plastic'.

So, to waste this time scrolling on TikTok or watching a video, can result in decision fatigue, decreased productivity or reduced long-term memory formation.

Maybe this might be the key to success.

It is said that many other experts, such as Apple CEO Tim Cook, are branching out and trying the method in order to get their day started in the right direction.

The publication write that millions of users are using the Blinkist app, known for their podcasts and non-fiction books, to help and start their day, doom-scroll free.

While you may not be one of the 37 million people with the app, starting your day tech-free may be a start.
