Experts have raised questions about an 'orange blob' spotted near Jeffrey Epstein's prison cell on the night of his death.

Disgraced financier Epstein was found deceased in his cell at New York's Metropolitan Correctional Centre on 10 August 2019, with authorities determining that he died by suicide the night before.

At the time of his death, the 66-year-old was awaiting trial on charges of federal sex trafficking.

Six years on and Epstein's death continues to be talking point across America and internationally, with the FBI releasing 11 hours of CCTV footage captured on the night of his death as demands over the heavily-debated 'Epstein files' continue.

Following the release of the footage, experts have questioned Epstein's death being ruled as a suicide, with a recent investigation from CBS News sparking questions about an 'orange shape' spotted near the convicted peadophile's cell.

At around 10.40pm on 9 August an orange object can be seen moving up the stairs in the cellblock, which investigators explained was a corrections officer carrying 'linen or inmate clothing'.

"[This] was the last time any CO approached the only entrance to the SHU [Special Housing Unit] tier in which Epstein was housed," the report read.

However CBS have now suggested the orange shape - which appears for a few seconds - could actually be a inmate wearing an orange jumpsuit.

"Based on the limited video, it's more likely it's a person in an [orange] uniform," Conor McCourt, a retired NYPD sergeant and forensic video expert, explained to the outlet.

What concerns have been raised about the CCTV footage from outside Jeffrey Epstein's prison cell?

According to the FBI report, the tape shows Epstein entering his cell just before 7.50pm on 9 August. The silent video shows the door for the next 11 hours, with the only other notable movement being a police officer seen running across the video at 6.30am.

The Department of Justice later confirmed this was the moment which Epstein's lifeless body was discovered.

Investigators insisted the footage released was raw and unedited, however this hasn't stopped questions and conspiracy theories arising.

Eagle-eyed viewers noticed the footage was missing a minute, after spotting the time stamp on the tape jumping from just before 11.59pm to midnight.

US Attorney General Pam Bondi would initially explain this away as a technology glitch, but was later forced to backtrack after the missing minute was 'found'.

Meanwhile the appearance of a cursor in one clip raised questions about previous claims the video was the actual 'raw footage' promised from the Metropolitan Detention Centre cameras.

This was later backed up by an analysis by video forensics expert Jim Stafford, who told the outlet the footage was most likely a screen capture.
