In March 2024, teacher McKenna Kindred pleaded guilty to second-degree sexual misconduct with a minor and communication with a minor for immoral purposes.
Aged 23 at the time, she is said to have exchanged sexually explicit messages, photos and videos with a 17-year-old student.
She was working at Central Valley High School in Spokane, Washington in the US, when she first began the inappropriate relationship after he found her Instagram account.
Disturbing messages between them eventually came to light and the students mother has since revealed further shocking details.

Reports claim Kindred invited the teen over to her home and had sex for hours while her husband was away and their illegal relationship came to light as rumours quickly spread around the school.
The teacher was handed two years of probation, fined and placed on the sex offenders register.

The victim’s mum has shared more claims about the case and according to the Daily Mail, she discovered odd payments in her son’s bank account.
She told police that she could recall him getting ‘gas money through Venmo’ from a teacher in the autumn of 2022 which she found ‘kind of inappropriate’. However she said she didn’t know which teacher sent it or exactly why.
It’s also reported that when the teen asked Kindred if she had used a sex toy while thinking about him, she responded ‘I did’.
The teen reportedly wrote: “U should have video it and save it,” to which the teacher replied: "Hm next time I need to relearn Snapchat haha."
In another message, Kindred told the underage boy: "I like being touched by you."
And third message from her, which was previously read out in court, said: "When other girls talk about you in my class I could feel myself getting mad.”
Kindred’s husband reportedly chose to stand by her as she admitted to her crimes and the pair moved away to a new state following the case.

As the court case concluded, she said she was 'deeply ashamed' of her actions, and apologised to the victim and his family.
"I am truly sorry for my actions. I know that this past year has been enormously stressful for all involved. As a result of my actions I've lost my career, valuable friendships, freedoms and have let down countless people who placed their trust in me," she said.
"My mental health has also been severely affected by this event. I am deeply ashamed of the pain I have caused."
The age of consent in Washington is 16 but authority figures can be charged for having sexual relations with minors under the age of 18 in their care.
