The most successful OnlyFans star in the world has hit back at claims from a political candidate who said he aims to tax adult content creators.
Sophie Rain is one of the leading figures on the NSFW platform, recently sharing that she's made $95 million with her content in the space of just two years. The 21-year-old has never been shy in responding to critics, remaining proud of her work and supporting others on the platform despite the stigmas around it.
This remained consistent yesterday (13 January), as James Fishback, a Florida governor candidate, suggested that the US state introduce a 'sin tax' for those creating adult content.
Explaining that it would involve OnlyFans creators giving up 50 percent of their earnings, he spoke about the idea as one of the focuses of his campaign.

Fishback explained: "If you are a so-called OnlyFans creator in Florida, you are going to pay 50% to the state on whatever you so-called earn via that online degeneracy platform.
"We will raise hundreds of millions of dollars of income on the OnlyFans Sin Tax," he claimed.
Fishback added that Rain would then have to pay $42 million in taxes, which he pledged to use to increase public school teachers' wages and to improve the quality of school lunches.
In a direct message to Rain on X, he wrote: "Hey @SophieRaiin, Pay up *or* quit OnlyFans.

"As Florida Governor, I will not allow a generation of smart and capable young women to sell their bodies online."
She responded, joking: "Sounds like you subscribed and got buyers remorse after dropping your annual salary on an OF girl."
Rain then posted a video in response to his claims, saying she never thought a politician would try to 'start beef' with her for 'clout', explaining that she would be happy to pay the tax if 'multi-billion dollar corporations were also being properly taxed'.
The adult content creator, who claims to be a 'Christian virgin' who has 'never posted nude', captioned the video: "Targeting a group of individuals using their job to survive when there are multibillion dollar corrupt business that don’t pay any taxes is the (sic) insane."

She then shared a screenshot of an article claiming that 'at least 55 of the largest corporations in America paid no federal corporate income taxes in their most recent fiscal year despite enjoying substantial pretax profits'.
"I pay my 37% income tax proudly, and i would be glad to pay more if big businesses weren’t paying $0 in taxes," Rain wrote.

The adult star then shared a post reporting that ,according to the Financial times, the US is issuing more work visas to OnlyFans models based on their audience reach.
It claimed that some US immigration attorneys said influencers made up over half of their clientele, as Rain pointed out: "Work visas are being issued for OF models meanwhile a Florida candidate is looking to tax us 50% on top of the federal tax we pay at the same time… sounds ironic to me."
