The CEO named as the recipient of an email discussing a 'torture video' in the Epstein files has resigned.
Earlier today, US politician Thomas Massie named Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, the CEO and chair of Dubai-based logistics company DP World, as the man who received an email from disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein discussing a torture video.
The 2009 email sent from Epstein to bin Sulayem, which included the line 'I loved the torture video' was included in the latest DoJ release of the Epstein files last month. The context of the message is not known to the public.
Bin Sulayem's name had initially been redacted from the email until a push from Massie and Ro Khanna this week saw his name released.

In response to the update, it has now been confirmed that bin Sulayem has resigned from his positions as Chairman and CEO.

In a statement released by DP World, which did not name bin Sulayem, the company confirmed that Essa Kazim was the new chair of the company's board, while Yuvraj Narayan had taken over as CEO.
"DP World affirmed that the new appointments support its strategy for sustainable growth and reinforce its role in strengthening global supply chains and supporting Dubai’s position as a leading hub for trade and logistics," the statement, released by the Media Office of Dubai read.
"DOJ redacted information necessary to identify who sent Epstein the 'torture video email'," Massie wrote on X in response to the news.
"@RepRoKhanna and I first discovered his name and released it Monday. Today, he resigns."
The email is not the only exchange between the pair, with numerous emails sent back and forth over the years showing the two men discussing a variety of topics, including sex, explicit images and escorts over the span of a decade.
In one email reported by The Times, bin Sulayem sends Epstein an image of a woman alongside a comment stating the university student was 'the best sex I ever had amazing body'.
Meanwhile, the BBC revealed bin Sulayem had forwarded Epstein's sexist and racist jokes, as well as saying 'Russia is the source of all beautiful women'.

Although named in the files, bin Sulayem has not been charged with any criminal wrongdoing in relation to Epstein.
It is also thought that Epstein had introduced the 71-year-old to political figures such as Steve Bannon and Ehud Barak, the former Prime Minister of Israel.
