Family of US woman who disappeared with child and joined tribe in Scotland share her last messages

The woman's family are very concerned about her

The family of the woman who disappeared with her child have shared her last messages.

It was recently discovered Kaura Taylor was living with a tribe in Scotland after her family reported her missing from the US several months ago.

Now known as Asnat, Lady Safi, she has joined the Kingdom of Kubala in a forest by the town of Jedburgh. The lost ‘African’ tribe is said to consist of just two others: group leader King Atehene, 36, and his wife, Queen Nandi, 43.

The Kingdom of Kubala say they’re reclaiming land which was stolen from their ancestors around 400 years ago. The 21-year-old has since spoken out as her family couldn’t believe she was in the UK with her one-year-old.

“I’m very happy with my King and Queen, I was never missing, I fled a very abusive, toxic family,” Taylor wrote online.

She also said in a video message: "To the UK authorities, obviously, I am not missing. Leave me alone. I’m an adult, not a helpless child."

Her aunt, Vandora Skinner, explained to Daily Mail she was living with Taylor and her child in Texas before they suddenly left around 23 May.

And two days later, she received a message from her niece that she had gone and ‘decided to explore a little bit’.

“I tried to respond to the message, saying ‘Where are you, though?’” Skinner explained.

“And she said, ‘I will have to call you when I get Wi-Fi.’

“I never got a call, and I never got a response to where she was. She didn't let nobody know that she was gone.”

Skinner also claimed the baby had been taken from the woods by social services in the UK but didn’t share further details: “All I can say is, the baby is in safe care and is on the way back to the USA.”

As the family fear for Taylor living with the couple in the woods, her other aunt, Teri Allen, told The Independent: “It is very stressful, and difficult. It breaks our heart. We’re overly concerned about Kaura, but she doesn't think anyone is concerned about her.”

Skinner reportedly reached out to Scottish police and while her niece is no closer to coming home, the belief that Taylor is on a six-month tourist visa means that she may be forced to return home at the end of November.

King Atehene said of the tribe: "We live a very simple life of returning to innocence.

"We connect to nature. We connect to the trees around us. We get grounded every morning. We bathe in the springwater. We are living a simple life of relying daily on the creator for food, shelter and clothing.

"We live in a tent without walls, but we are not afraid of anyone, for we have the protection of the creator, Yahowah."
