A dog owner has captured some pretty disturbing footage of what appears to be a giant wolf-like beast attacking his dog in the forests of northern America.
Now, rumours of giant wolf-like creatures have circled around the dark and dense forests of the USA for a long time, but rarely have we been able to see such clear footage of a giant creature actually attacking a dog.
In the footage, the dog starts barking at something in the woodland, before a hulking black beast emerges from the forest and goes right for it.
A man - believed to be the dog's owner - shouts after the dog before the creature grabs it and the video cuts right out. Terrifying stuff, but does it confirm the existence of something unusual in those woods?
Naturally that is the angle being peddled by some folk. They believe that this is conclusive proof of the legend that the dogman - a mysterious human/wolf hybrid creature - is out there, skulking around the darker parts of the forests of America.
However, back in the world of (relative) common sense, it's most likely a huge timber wolf. They can grow really, really big and wouldn't mind having a crack at a dog - especially one that was barking a lot, or if the wolf fancied an easy meal.
Either way, the video is scary enough without inventing some sort of mythical beast dwelling in the woods. It's fair to say that most people would choose a different dog walking route after an experience like that.
That's if the owner even has a dog left. Who knows what happened after the camera cut out.
Weirdly enough, this isn't the only bit of 'wolf critter' news to have come out of America recently. Last month, on a ranch in Denton, Montana, another wolf-like creature was found. This time the creature was dead, but it had grey fur and looked for all the world like a wolf, but with larger ears and shorter legs and body.
Naturally the same folk crawled out to scream 'DOGMAN!' to the press, but sadly, this is more likely to simply be a cross between a wolf and a dog.
However, the exact species of the thing is not yet known.
A representative of the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks authority said: "We have no idea what this was until we get a DNA report back,"
I mean, if that isn't 100 percent proof that there is a conspiracy to cover up the existence of the dogman then I don't know what is.
