Fabled soothsayer Baba Vanga and reputed seer Nostradamus have both allegedly made the same eerie predictions for what may happen in 2026 - and it could see the end of the world as we know it.
One of two things will usually happen if you mention Vanga to your mate: either they’ll roll their eyes in incredulity, or they’ll go slack-jawed and urge you to carry on.
The legendary oracle, who died in August 1996, is thought to have predicted everything from the horrific 9/11 attacks to the 44th US president being a Black man.
And because she’s allegedly had a few prophecies come true over the years, millions of people across the globe continue to take stock in her words.

The clairvoyant, who became blind in her childhood, is said to have made predictions far in the future before her death.
In 2025, she claimed aliens would make contact with the Earth for the first time at a major sporting event, and in 2026? Well, apparently, we’re getting up close and personal with extraterrestrial life.
Vanga has also said we’ll experience a myriad of natural disasters, a divination we hope she’s wrong about.
But Vanga isn’t the only person in history to forecast the future.

Prior to her was Nostradamus, a French astrologer best known for his book, Les Propheties.
The 1555 tome, featuring 942 poetic quatrains, was released posthumously. Some conspiracy theorists believe the book contains predictions for the future, right up until the year 3797.
While Nostradamus’ supposed future bets are usually vague, it’s weird that both he and Vanga agreed on two of the same things taking place in 2026, right?
The first is that rising tensions between global powers will escalate, potentially leading to World War III.

It’s alleged there’s a potential Chinese offensive against Taiwan on the cards, and a scenario that could see the United States military confronting Russian troops.
As well as the potential for the Earth to be engulfed in war, both Vanga and Nostradamus allegedly claimed that Artificial Intelligence (AI) would begin its world domination.
Thanks to Will Smith’s I, Robot, we’ve already seen what would likely happen if AI took over the world. And I, for one, am keen to avoid the world looking like the 2004 movie.
The pair, however, has allegedly claimed the rapid pace of AI integration in 2025 could cause a major turning point in 2026.

It’s apparently possible that from next year, more people could begin losing their jobs to machines, and that AI-powered technology could actually dominate key sectors.
Elon Musk has already planned to release the humanoid Tesla Optimus humanoid robots next year, with pricing possibly coming in between $20,000 and $30,000 (£14,645 - £21,967).
The Tesla bots are reportedly being rolled out as general-purpose assistants, capable of chores, assisting in childcare, and serving as a companion.
Like I say, we’ve already learned what happens if you’re not nice to your robot pals. Don’t forget to say 'please' and 'thank you' for working hard before they allegedly take over next year.
