Chilling CCTV of suspect allegedly moving body of Brit found dead in suitcase emerges
CCTV footage has been released claiming to depict the moment that a suspect in the death of British woman Elizabeth Jane Ross moved a suitcase to an abandoned building to hide her remains.
Ross, 38, was found dead in a suitcase on 18 July by a homeless person in an abandoned building in the Kypseli district of Athens.
She had last been seen three days earlier when she'd been staying with friends in Athens and told them she was going to go and stay with others elsewhere in the city.
Her mobile phone was still active following her death, with her family being sent messages telling them she 'needed some time to herself' and that she 'wanted to be alone for a while'.

Police investigating her death believe these messages to have been sent by someone else, with her father saying he was still getting text messages from her phone until 29 July days after her body had been found.
The phone activity stopped when information about the woman's body being found in a suitcase was released to the public.
A suspect, a 26-year-old man from Afghanistan, has been arrested by the police and taken into custody and investigators claim that he confessed to moving the woman's body.
"The involvement of the 26-year-old foreigner has been verified through material from the preliminary investigation and digital analysis of video footage," police said in a statement following the man's arrest.
They are investigating the potential charges of intentional homicide, robbery, and violations of weapons legislation against the man.
CCTV footage has been released appearing to depict a man wheeling a suitcase down a city street, as iefimerida reports that further footage allegedly follows the man's journey from his home to place where the suitcase with the body inside was discovered.
They report that footage of the building shows the man enter with the suitcase and later leave without it.
Police said that the man had been arrested last week and confessed to putting the woman's body in the suitcase and moving it, and they also say he confessed to using Ross' bank cards to take out cash.
"He was brought to the division's headquarters on Thursday, 30 July, and confessed to his actions. It was established that the 26-year-old placed the body in a suitcase and transported it to the abandoned site.
"Furthermore, in the days that followed, he used the victim's bank cards to withdraw cash.
"During searches conducted at his residence, a replica pistol and a knife were found and seized; consequently, he was arrested for violating the law on weapons."
The Guardian reports that Greek police are saying the man admits to moving the body but denies murdering her.
"He has admitted to carrying her body to the site. Police have CCTV footage of him doing this on the night of 16 July. He has also confessed to withdrawing €10,000 from ATMs using credit cards that belonged to her. But he has denied murder which police do not believe," George Kalliakmanis, the honorary president of the police officers’ association in Athens said in a statement.
