Donald Trump has made headlines for embarrassing Keir Starmer at a peace summit.

The American president is no stranger to doing things out of the ordinary, but this latest incident has sent viewers into hysterics.

Trump was speaking at a peace summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, following the agreement of a US-brokered ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, when the moment took place on stage.

The 79-year-old recently voiced his displeasure at missing out on this year's Nobel Peace Prize despite publicly campaigning for it.

It would instead go to María Corina Machado, the Venezuelan opposition leader who disappeared and went into hiding in August 2024, following elections the preceding month.

The Nobel Prize team say they traditionally award the individual who demonstrates 'fraternity between the nations and the abolition or reduction of standing armies and the formation and spreading of peace congresses' in a given year.

Despite being snubbed, Trump has not slowed down on his continuous mission to give himself credit for doing good.

While he'd claimed that he 'won't get a Nobel Prize' after completing a diplomatic deal, he went on: "I won’t get a Nobel Peace Prize for stopping the War between India and Pakistan … for stopping the War between Serbia and Kosovo … for keeping Peace between Egypt and Ethiopia … and I won’t get a Nobel Peace Prize for doing the Abraham Accords in the Middle East."

The President once again spoke about the Gaza ceasefire which was achieved with the help of several nations, speaking at the peace summit and heaping praise on all of those involved in achieving a ceasefire in the region.

After wrapping up his list, he looked for British Prime Minister Keir Starmer for some reason, asking on stage: “Where is United Kingdom, where is my friend, Starmer?”

“I am right behind you as usual,” Starmer responded.

Trump then asked: “Come up here, is everything going good?”

At this point, the British leader stepped up, ready for his go in front of the microphone, replying: "Very good."

The US leader then went on: “It is very nice that you are here. These people all came on like 20-minute notice and I think it is fantastic," before turning away and continuing to speak.

Starmer then awkwardly returned to his place next to Canadian prime minister Mark Carney, letting out an awkward smile in an apparent attempt to ease the embarrassment.

“I have known so many of you for so long. You're friends of mine, you great people. I have a couple I don't like in particular but I won't tell you who,” Trump had previously joked, piling on the humiliation.

When he finally did get a chance on the mic, Starmer spoke of the 'really historic day' as the UK could help to monitor the agreement and even decommission Hamas' weaponry, referencing the 'experience in Northern Ireland'.

Taking to X, one viewer said it was 'One of the most humiliating things I've ever seen on public display,' with another calling Starmer a 'gleeful little boy'.

Following the event, Starmer said on the social media platform: "President Trump, this is your achievement. I thank you for your tireless efforts to deliver this moment.

"The UK stands ready to support a full implementation of the peace plan."
