Donald Trump may be in for a rough 2026, according to a prediction from a shaman in Peru.

The last day of 2025 is upon us, which means people around the world are looking ahead and wondering what may be in store for them in 2026.

Various predictions from psychics old and new have already been wheeled out, with clairvoyants Nostradamus and Baba Vanga issuing vague warnings for mankind from beyond the grave.

However, if your name is Donald J. Trump then it may be particularly bad news, as a group of shamans performing their annual New Year ritual believe a 'serious illness' is on the cards for the US leader.

Speaking from the beaches near the Peruvian capital Lima, the group waved posters showing various world leaders, including Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelenskyy, before sharing their predictions for what is to come.

Sharing his prediction for the 79-year-old US leader, shaman Juan de Dios Garcia said (via Reuters): "The United States should prepare itself because Donald Trump will fall seriously ill."

The prediction follows months of speculation about Trump's overall health, after the president was previously photographed with what appeared to be bruises on the back of his hands.

It was later confirmed that Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), a condition which occurs when veins in your legs are damaged. CVI is typically more commonly diagnosed in people over the age of 50.

What other predictions were made by the shamans?

As well as an 'illness' for Trump, the group also foresaw the removal and exile of Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro.

"We have asked for Maduro to leave, to retire, for President Donald Trump of the United States to be able to remove him, and we have visualised that next year this will happen," another member of the group, Ana María Simeón, said.

This prediction will likely delight the US president, given that America has been destroying boats linked to the South American country.

There was also good news for President Zelenskyy, as Garcia believed he had foreseen the end of Russia's invasion of Ukraine – however, this was disputed by Simeón, who believes the war will continue.

Outside of geopolitics, concerns for the environment were also on the group's mind, leading to warnings of earthquakes and various climate phenomena.

The New Year's ritual takes place in Peru every year in late December. Recent years have yielded mixed results for the group, with a prediction claiming the Ukraine war would end in 2023 proving inaccurate.

However, a 2023 prediction that former Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori would die the following year came true in the following year, when he passed away from cancer in September 2024.
