Leaked recording of ‘most wanted man on earth’ calling the police shows exactly why he’s still on the run

The Mexican crime boss called the police directly to threaten them, ruthlessly

The 'most wanted man in the world' once called the police, and reminded us all why he boasts that title.

Mexican drug lord 'El Mencho' has been running from the law for years in spite of the bounty worth millions that has been slapped on his head.

You may wonder how he became so revered, but the below phone call may just explain why - you can listen to the terrifying crime boss in the clip below:

Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, better known as El Mencho, is the infamous leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).

They are known as the most powerful gang in Mexico along with the Sinaloa Cartel, with both fighting over territory and highly-coveted smuggling routes into the US, among other criminal activities.

The leader is known for being one of the big names in the narcotics game, even serving three years in American prison after being found guilty of conspiring to distribute drugs in 1994.

Immediately after his release, he was deported back to Mexico and after a short stint in the Mexican police force, he turned back to crime and began to work his way to the top.

Known as the 'most wanted man on earth', the 57-year-old is still on the run in his homeland, with the government even offering $30 million pesos (£1.4 million) for any information that could lead to his arrest, while the US have offered a modest $10 million (£8 million).

El Mencho is wanted for drug trafficking, organised crime involvement and undocumented possession of firearms.

The audio clip in question was leaked to Mexican media outlets in September 2016, showing just how much power the crime boss has, reducing a police officer to a shell of a man through his threats.

Mexican news outlet Proceso reported and authenticated the conversation.

El Mencho tells the officer to ‘get your f***ing people to relax' and calls him a ‘son of a b***h’.

“This is Mencho, man,” he shouts through the phone.

“Get your damn men to lay off or I am going to screw you and your mother and your whole pack of dogs.

“I have 30 of you identified. I’m even going to kill your damn dogs if you don’t back off. What do you think of that?”

The officer replies: “You’ve got it sir. I will tell them to stand down right away.”

Later he sends a threatening warning: “We’ll get rid of all of you. All of you sons of bitches, because all of you are taking money. You are a bag of pigs.”

He later adds: “That is why I can’t figure it out, man. I get you, man. I know you have your people, the family and s**t. But a*****e, you’d better get on this.”

The phone call suddenly ends, with the police officer complying and responding with a simple: "Of course, sir."

His brother, Abraham Oseguera, a fellow member of CJNG, was arrested in last month and released this week after a judge deemed that there were no legal grounds to imprison him on, despite backlash from authorities.

Following his arrest, the military said that Oseguera was involved in money laundering and trafficking drugs internationally.
