Footage has revealed what it looked like inside the tourist submarine which sank off the coast of Egypt this morning.

Earlier today (27 March), it was confirmed that a submarine carrying 45 tourists and five crew members had sank in the Red Sea, near the city of Hurghada.

Egypt's Red Sea governor, Amr Hanafy, has since confirmed that the six deceased tourists were all Russian nationals, while the nationalities of the other passengers included India, Norway and Sweden, the BBC reports.

Five Egyptian nationals were also onboard. Reports also added that the remaining 29 passengers were rescued.

Promotional footage taken from inside the tourist submarine prior to the incident is now circulating online, with the clips showing families boarding the vessel and enjoying views of aquatic life from as deep as 80ft (25 metres) beneath the ocean.

Watch the footage below:

In one clip, several young children are peering out of a window, while a family watch the fish swim from a circular window in another.

Meanwhile, other clips also show scuba divers interacting with the fish in order to entertain tourists, as well as passengers boarding and disembarking the submarine via boat.

The Sindbad Submarines website adds that passengers will be able to see the 'beauty' of the Red Sea's coral reef and underwater inhabitants.

"Experience the beauty of the Red Sea’s underwater world without getting wet. It’s perfect for all ages and the memories will last a lifetime," the company adds in a description of the excursion.

"We provide point-to-point transfer from your hotel to our terminal, including land-sea transportation, and all with an excellent level of service."

In the case of emergency, the website explains that the vessels carry oxygen masks and life vests onboard.

It adds that the submarines are engineered in Finland to 'sustain underwater pressure up to 75m, ensuring safety and reliability'.

Officials are yet to confirm the cause of the submarine's sinking.

This isn't the first time which a tragedy has occurred in Egypt's Red Sea region, with a boat named Sea Story sinking off the coast of popular tourist spot Shaab Satayah last November, with 11 dead or missing and 35 survivors.
