A bizarre bust up ended with a man being knocked out by his own mate outside a strip joint in Melbourne.

Security footage shared by 7News shows two men being removed from a King St club on Friday night at around 9.20pm. The duo were ejected from the Bar 20 and tried to get back in by fighting with the bouncers on the door, the co-owner has claimed.

One man is seen grabbing a bollard as a weapon before seemingly changing his mind when a member of security gets close.

At first, his friend looked to have surrendered to the decision by sitting down on the pavement. That was until the disgruntled individual decided to pick up a chair from the restaurant next door with the possible intention of launching it in the direction of the security staff.

“He just suddenly asked for, can I borrow a chair? I tried to stop him asking, it’s our top chair, you cannot take it,” a woman working in the Australian eatery told the outlet.

What may have been intended as payback, however, ended up with his friend getting getting hit in the head by the chair.

It appears that the bouncer saw it coming and ducked his head just in time. Footage then shows the perpetrator with his hands on his head in disbelief.

Soon after, security guards are seen laughing about the fact that the chair was likely intended for them.

The co-owner said the duo were taken out of the bar for being offensive to dancers and staff. He thought that the chair was, indeed, aimed at his head of security at the front door.

“Just like yelling with the guy and like others surrounding, they was laughing about this situation,” the restaurant worker said.

“I didn’t say anything because I was shocked and I asked for our staff to help me to take the chair back.”

Despite getting hit, the individual got back up relatively quickly and carried on with his night.

“Suddenly, he woke up and walked like normal,” they added.

The outlet understands that the matter was not reported to police.

Commenting on the clip on social media, one viewer tweeted: "That bouncer having the night of his life."

"Imagine waking up to this if you and your mate after blacking out," another person said.

While someone else penned: "Crazy how that chair bounced back. Hope everyone's okay."
