A crypto millionaire whose dismembered remains were found buried in a Dubai desert sent a series of desperate text messages before his death, reports claim.
The bodies of Roman Novak, 38, and his wife Anna, 37, were discovered in the desert after the couple were allegedly lured to a meeting with people posing as 'investors' at the Hatta mountain resort.
Reports claim that the pair were then 'extorted' for cryptocurrency, before they met a grisly end last month, according to the Daily Mail.
Roman apparently collected a coveted British AC Cobra car in the days before his disappearance, before a personal driver chauffeured the couple to a car park close to a lake.

The Dubai-based crypto magnate and his wife, who hailed from Russia, are said to have then switched cars for the remainder of the journey.
At this point, Roman reportedly sent text messages to a number of people explaining that he was 'stuck in the mountains on the Oman border'.

It has been claimed that the 38-year-old then also told his contacts that he desperately needed to get his hands on $200,000 (£152,100).
"Subsequently, contact with the young couple was lost," Svetlana Petrenko, a spokesperson for the Russian Investigative Committee (RIC), reportedly said.
Roman and Anna's phones were tracked for two days, digitally documenting their movements from Hatta.
The devices then travelled to Oman, Cape Town and finally South Africa, before the signals vanished early last month.
Authorities in both Russia and the United Arab Emirates have teamed up to tackle the murder investigation - and they believe that the phones might have been left on as a ruse to throw off investigators.
Roman and Anna's concerned relatives in their home country raised the alarm about them vanishing after growing concerned when they were unable to contact them.

It was revealed a few days ago that three Russian suspects had been arrested after returning from Dubai in connection with the killings.
Konstantin Shakht, 53 - an ex-homicide investigator who is now an alleged drugs smuggler - Yury Sharypov, 46, and Vladimir Dalekin, 45, who both served for Russia in the war in Ukraine, were detained.
They have been remanded in custody until 28 December.
Sharing an update on the probe into the horror murders, RIC spokesperson Petrenko said previously: "The investigation has established that the killers had accomplices who helped organise the abduction.
"They rented cars and premises where the victims were held by force.
"After the murder, the perpetrators disposed of the knives and the victims’ personal belongings, leaving them in different emirates."
Roman and Anna's young children who have been orphaned are currently in the care of their grandparents, reports say.
