Russian propagandists have once again been issuing warnings about the possibility of World War Three while salivating over the prospect of doing what they like without US intervention.
There has been a growing split between the US and Europe in recent times as the Trump administration has adopted a poor attitude towards its allies, particularly over threats to take over Greenland regardless of what the people living there think.
Donald Trump did eventually rule out using force, but the man changes his mind so much it's hard to consider that a guarantee.
As such the idea that the US is an ally that can be relied upon is much diminished, which has been greeted with much relish in Moscow by one of Vladimir Putin's favourite mouthpieces Vladimir Solovyov, he who previously predicted Russia and the US would team up to invade Europe.

This time around he's been on Russian state TV pitching a tent over the prospect that Russia could 'choose to strike any part of Europe' and the US wouldn't do anything about it.

Per the Express, he claimed the 'Americans won't retaliate' if Russia attacked other parts of Europe and this left the continent 'on their own' in the face of their aggression.
Solovyov also accused western leaders of provoking escalation from Russia if they continued to support Ukraine, and also called Kyiv a 'dead city' which would appear to be a false statement since the Ukrainian capital is still very much operational.
One might think invading a neighbouring country, causing the largest conflict in Europe since the Second World War and continuing for years after declaring it would be a 'special military operation' lasting three days would be the escalation, but for propagandists like Solovyov, it's always someone else's fault that Russia goes and kills lots of people.
Most European countries are in NATO and would expect to call on the rest of the alliance if they were attacked, but the Trump administration's actions have raised concerns over that.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum, Trump said: "I know we’ll come to [NATO’s] rescue, but I just really do question whether or not they’ll come to ours."
The only time Article 5 of NATO has been invoked to protect a member state was for the United States and was done in the aftermath of the 9/11 terror attacks.
Trump recently provoked a furious response when he falsely said that NATO soldiers had 'stayed a little off the frontlines' in Afghanistan, with the armed personnel of many nations losing their lives helping the US.
UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer called Trump's words 'insulting and frankly appalling', with the US president later saying the UK's troops were 'among the greatest of all warriors' but did not include an apology in what he said.
