Warning: This article contains allegations of kidnapping and body mutilation which some readers may find distressing.

Yeva Mishalova, the girlfriend of Igor Komarov, spoke out after it was claimed that her Instagram activity had 'tipped off' his killers about his location.

Igor, the son of Ukrainian businessman and alleged 'kingpin' Sergey Komarov, had been travelling with his girlfriend in Bali in February to celebrate Valentine's Day.

A day later he disappeared and a video of him was released on Telegram where he described being tortured and said kidnappers were demanding $10 million.

Body parts belonging to the 28-year-old were then discovered on a beach which matched Igor's DNA, and a head was among them with tests on the parts indicating he'd been killed around three days earlier.

It was then suggested that Yeva's social media activity might have alerted Igor's kidnappers and killers to his location, with true-crime channel Lazy Masquerade saying 'anyone keeping an eye on the couple knew exactly where they were'.

At the beginning of April she posted a video where she spoke out about Igor's death: "I have been in silence for a long time. I want to sincerely thank everyone who supported me.

"I am currently going through a very difficult period. I spend most of my time either with my family or by myself. I am working with a psychologist, trying to recover, listen to myself.

"I am cooperating with the investigation. Please do not spread rumours, do not dispel. f**king content and respecting my boundaries. Now I’m not going back to my usual rhythm. I only mark my presence very carefully. Thank you to those who are around in human way."

Later on she shared another update thanking people who had offered 'care about my condition' and 'words of support' as it was keeping her going.

She said: "Because I can go to bed feeling like there’s no life, and then the next day I can wake up thinking I need to pull myself together. That’s why it comes in waves. Each person experiences their loss in their own way."

Igor had been abducted on 15 February by a group that appeared to accuse his father of 'stealing ten million' from them.

In a horrifying video released on 19 February the man described the damage that had been done to him, saying: "They already chopped off some of my limbs, I have broken legs and punched ribcage. I'm already on meds, I already have no limbs.

"Mummy, Daddy, I beg you, help me please, you stole those ten million, which they ask for, return these ten million please.

"An infection will start soon. I'm just dying... I ask you very much, this is a very serious organisation, please help me, no one can find me, neither mafiosos, no one.

"Bring me home, what[ever] is left of me at the moment, please settle with these people, they need ten million dollars, which we stole.

"As soon as these ten million are received in their accounts, they will immediately let me go to the place where they took me."

Police found his severed head on 27 February.
