A family of influencers have been warning people after their holiday to Thailand took a swift turn for the worse as they said they were 'held hostage' by eight men and 'assaulted'.

Harrison Leigh, one of the sons from The Famileigh, recently posted a video to social media where he said he'd just had 'the scariest night of my life' in the Thai city of Chiang Mai.

He posted footage of him dancing and having a good time in a nightclub, with the text: "This was filmed moments before eight men held us hostage, assaulted us and demanded 64,000 baht (£1,500)."

Explaining things later in a video, they explained they 'got scammed'.

"We saw these local Thai girls, and we went over to them and we basically just said 'where would you go on a night out'," the influencers explained.

"They took us to a bar and inside the bar they had a private karaoke room. They then offered us drinks, like 'yeah, do that'. They were like 'oh can we have a drink', it's like 'yeah of course you can have a drink'."

"There was loads of girls in the room as well. It wasn't a strip club, by the way. They charged us originally for like £100, then they got food, wanted a bottle of whiskey."

They explained that they hadn't actually ordered this stuff but the place kept bringing food into their room and they 'came in the room again to charge us'.

Now they wanted the guys to pay another 12,000 baht, worth just under £300, which they did pay but decided 'right, that's it now' and reckoned they should call it a night before more things they'd need to pay for were brought to them.

Ordering a taxi, they said they 'noticed one of the girls left the room' and when they got up to leave the club 'eight men came into the room, locked the door and then demanded that we pay 64,000 baht'.

The guys said they refused to pay the money, explaining that during their time in the club they'd just had a couple of beers each, but when they attempted to leave things 'got physical'.

One of the guys said they 'got chokeslammed' while the other was punched and kicked when he tried to step in.

After an 'hour of f**king pleading' where all of their cash was taken from them they were told via Google translate 'we'll call the police and we'll get the Chiang Mai mafia to beat you up'.

The guys were shown footage of them nodding when shots were being ordered and in the end they were offered a 'discount' of 35,000 baht to get out of the situation which they ended up paying.

Fortunately they seem to be doing alright now and despite the scary experience they said Thailand was still a great place to visit and they would want to go back.
